I see a lot of Harrison Barnes/Rudy Gay in Wiggins.

Worst case, Jordan. Best case, GOAT and in the HOF before he's thirty and still playing.

I really start to wonder about the extreme hype surrounding Wiggins. Sure he's got all the measurables, a super athlete with cat like quickness. But when I see the kid on the court I see someone who's passive, disappears on stretches, takes plays off and lacks that fire that so-called killer instinct to dominate games. Maybe it's the Kansas scheme that is preventing him from showcasing his strengths, even then a great player will usually find ways to contribute and make clutch plays that does not show up on the scoreboards. Wiggins is still extremely raw player, his handles need work, his shot needs work, his decision making as well as putting some muscle on that 200 lb stick of a body of his. Lebron came in at 240 lbs ready to bang and with a much greater skill-set than Wiggins, Wiggins might be a few years away from really contributing on the NBA level. He is the type of boom or bust player, he has the type of athleticism that can dominate but lacks the mean streak to really take his game to elite superstar level. That might or might not change when he gets to the NBA.

Paul George is absolutely not the worst case scenario. This is why I think he's being overrated. I keep seeing stuff like "worst case PG, best case T-Mac." No guarantee he'll be able to shoot threes like Paul. Jimmy Butler is the worst case scenario, maybe.

Paul George might not be that great a player, but he can shoot, pass, has handles and has a ton of moves. Haven't seen that kind of skill with Wiggins.

Didn't know George was so polished as a college freshman...

Even if Wiggins is a better college freshman than George, that doesn't translate to 'his floor is Paul George'. Paul George well exceeded the expectations of nearly everyone.

Seems overrated to me. Ben Mclemore had a similar profile to Wiggins and Ben went 7th in a weak draft while Wiggins is projected to go top 3 in a strong draft. They are both uber athletic wings, with defensive potential but lacks the skills (ball handling, finishing in the half court, playmaking on both ends) and the numbers to suggest that they are going to be future all stars.

So much hate for a player, because someone else "hyped" him. Due to reclassification, the guy is less than two years removed from 10th Grade, but people think he is supposed to be as skilled as current NBA players.

What do you people think T-Mac and Paul George were as 19-year olds? They weren't doing anything, skill-wise or production-wise, even remotely resembling what they'd do later in their careers.

Wiggins isn't a can't miss All-Star by any means, but the hype backlash is getting out of hand.

Fresh out of high school, T-Mac's handles were on a different planet than Wiggins'.

I know where this is heading? Someone is going to bookmark this and bump it when there is a clearer picture of what type of player Wiggins is and thus some of the comments will become comic gold.

To protect myself from being on a future signature Ill just say that he is an incredible athlete that needs to develop a consistent long range, and even mid range game at times.

If you watch Kansas play without knowing how hyped up he was you would never know he was called the best high school player since Lebron James.

I don't know, man, T-Mac's skills were of the charts.

They weren't when he came into the league.

Giannis is around the same age as Wiggins, and Giannis has better handles. Rookie T-Mac's handles were better than Giannis'.

Honestly if you watch Wiggins try to dribble, it's as if it's the first time he's ever dribbled a basketball in his life. Which is baffling considering he's played basketball his whole life, and his dad was an NBA player. Speaking of players who had NBA dads, Kobe's handles fresh out of high school:

That's not very encouraging. Barnes is starting to look like a bust.

Harrison Barnes was tagged as the next Kobe out of high school. Wiggins being tagged as a tmac, PG etc. Dude will be a Harrison Barnes.

Barnes was hyped as the next Kobe because he supposedly possessed such an advanced skillset for his age, which was always overrated because his skills were always more polished than they were advanced. Wiggins is going to be much better than Barnes.
