I agree but maintaining flexibility is what's gotten the rockets this far, so morey is sticking to his plan of saving room for a 3rd star.. I think he doesn't believe that the current roster with Parsons as the third best player could win the championship so he's sticking to his strategy. It'll piss off some rockets fans but I respect his long term perspective of ultimately trying to win a championship.

Not sure if I even wanna be a Rockets fan anymore. 15 million is a lot ya, but I'm kind of getting bored of the revolving door in Houston. Every time you get to see a young player develop and improve, there is a good chance he will be on another roster within a few years.

This off-season definitely hasn't went how the FO wanted it to.

They struck out on Bosh, but they still wouldn't have matched Parsons if they landed him.

Morey is a fool, I doubt the Rockets ever even advance to the WCF with him at the helm.

Salary dump?

They could've kept him for 1 mil next year and then let him walk for nothing then just the same, except they would've gotten an extra year out of him for free.

This achieves nothing other than showing how Morey outsmarted himself once again.

Unless you consider saving 1 mil as a salary dump to avoid luxury tax...

Morey needs to stop treating his team like he's playing 2K.

What was the advantage of letting him become a restricted FA now vs FA next year?
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

A solid role player off the bench, maybe. Far from a "gem" imo.

Dirk must be having an awesome day, Germany is WC champions and now one of the few guys he has a relationship with outside of the team is joining him.

Told yall. Morey is the guy who values empty assets/cap room than players who actually win games.

well isn't he a bit overpaid at about 15.5 million per year? I know he's a superb all around player but his defense is overrated in my eyes.

Haha  what did I tell you? Cuban is a smart guy. Nothing rile up CFs more than seeing Lin on Lakers and Parsons on Mavericks

So we've lost Lebron, Melo, Bosh, Asik, Lin and now Parsons all because we're too stubborn to move Harden :D

It's going to be an entertaining 2015!
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal :D
