I find your objectivity and rationality refreshing.

Thanks. We also have a rookie coach who is sure to struggle as well. I don't know where people are getting 65, 70 win predictions from. I think this team is a rim protector (and maybe a secondary perimeter defender) away from real contention.

Agreed, me and many other observers, not that they couldn't still end up with the best record in the East. Seems like they could get both a rim protector and a 3&D using some combination of Waiters, Thompson, and Haywood's expiring. Maybe they don't want to rush without getting a look at Waiters and Thompson a little this season, but they shouldn't waste too much of LeBJ's remaining years either.

Can the damn season start already?

So tired of people's fashionable opinions about a team they know little about (not a dig on the authors).

I think it's unrealistic to expect this Cavs team to be 27 games better than last season.

Difference is this big 3 should fit easier than that one took time to.

The 2010 Heat was in much worse shape than the 2014 Cavs. Remember, both Udonis Haslem & Mike Miller missed almost the entire regular season for the Heat due to injuries. Ray Allen was still in Boston, Battier still in Memphis, and Birdman still in Denver. For much of the regular season, the Heat made do with only LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and a whole bunch of minimum wage scrubs (Chalmers, Joel Anthony, etc). It was almost comical how Top Heavy that roster was, and yet they still managed to win 58 games.

The new Big Three in Cleveland actually has a viable supporting cast. Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson, Anderson Varejao, Shawn Marion, Mike Miller, and probably Ray Allen. That team is in a much better position than the 2010 Heat was in.

Trading Block: Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters seem like the only movable assets. Of the two I'd think Tristan is more likely to be moved.

I'm pretty sure is untrue, TT is more likely to been seen as a required player but i hope neither goes anywhere.

Position Battle: I guess SG is a bit up in the air as Blatt won't commit to starting Dion. By my eye it's going to be Dion so I don't really see a position battle. I think Blatt is just playing some coach games with Dion's mind a bit.

Dion is really our only option as a sg starter. There no one else on the roster who is able to or good enough to play starter minutes unless we start talking bout playing lebron out of position etc.

No doubt. Just because we have a better roster than out 66 and 62(?) win teams doesnt mean we can top that. The chemistry on those teams were great but lack of talent hurt when the post season came along. 55 seems like a fair prediction.

Considering Lebron/Kyrie/Love will only have played 2 games together when the seasons starts I can see a rough beginning for the Cavs for the first 25 or so games until they really figure out how to play with eachother to maximize their effectiveness. I can see 55 wins the first year, then 62+ the year after

That, and the overall talent level is much higher. The 4th man on that Miami squad wouldn't crack the top 8 on this Cle team.
