Doug E. Fresh doesn't hurt them on the floor as much as the loss of Butler does.

No Deng anymore, and no Butler = No one to guard Melo.

Butler being able to lock down the opponents best perimeter player without having to double allowed his weaker defensive teammates to guard lesser offensive threats and stay with them, which improved the team D.

With Dunlevy and McTurnstyle trying to guard Melo, the Bulls will be forced to double, leaving other Knicks shooters open. It's not rocket science here. Combine that with their scoring problems, and it should make for a close game.

I believe LP games are discussed in a separate thread from NT games.

Smothering help defense, and the complete lack of other offensive threats on the Knicks.

Have you ever watched the Bulls play D? They funnel every dribbler into their bigs and then rotate accordingly. The defense is set up precisely to force drive and kick and to make teams shoot from the outside. It's not rocket science: you want teams to shoot 20 footers, especially when they're not good shooters (like NYK bigs).

Also good perimeter defenders don't 'lock down' great offensive players. They limit them here and there, but those guys still score like crazy. It hurts for the Bulls to lose Butler, sure, but it's not like they lost Noah and Gibson.

Bulls weaknesses are uptempo running teams and good perimeter oriented teams, if a team doesn't outrun the Bulls defense or have a vast array of excellent shooters to shoot over it, that game is always winnable for the Bulls. Losing Butler hurts, but doesnt mean they are a wounded animal, they just need wing defenders to slow down their guy then Noah or Gibson will help, thats how their defense works.

Yep thats what people pretty much said they were happy to see happen. Helps avoid clutter imo.

Phil Jackson is truly a wizard.

How is he controlling Derek Fisher without any strings? No antennae - nothing.
Seems like straight mind control to me.

This triangle offense is awful. Pjax forgot that to have a triangle offense, he must have smart players
.
They can't get ONE triangle set working. Someone always screws up, forgets to screen, shoots too early...
.
Plain awful. It's not easy to be a strong triangle team, but I mean, ONE SET? Can they at least do a low post play?

Welp. Looks like long as Noah is there Chi will be a dominant defense. Pretty much clamping down NY.

No thread for Wolves Grizz?

Wolves are hanging with the Grizz. Not sure how, since flipping back and forth between this and Bucks Hornets. Too poor to afford TiVo.
