I've been playing over 20 years and never been on the court when someone suffered such an injury. Bizarre how often it occurs on live TV.

I once had a grade 2 mcl "sprain."

Which actually meant a partial tear, but it didn't require surgery. Not saying that's the same thing here since it's an acl, but sprains can still mean a tear or rupture.

One of the most common knee injuries is an anterior cruciate ligament sprain or tear.

An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury often is called a sprain. A sprain occurs when the threads or fibers of the ligament stretch or are torn.

Stretch OR torn. You declared it to be the worse category with no justification.

No justification? Did you see his leg buckle? That looks like all the justification needed to call it a tear.

"It looks like it on tape" is not justification for you to make a factual statement on someone's medical condition. And we all know it's done to make the thread clickbait, not to actually communicate the situation accurately.

I've never heard an ACL tear (the 8-10 month recovery kind) be refered to as a sprain. I always thought sprain indicated partial tear which depending on the level is a much faster recovery. If it was grade 3 they would have referred to it as a tear

Then you are Definitely not a Bucks fan. Because the original very quick diagnosis on both Jabari Parker and Kendall Marshall were knee sprains before they had the MRI. Both of course ended up being ACL tears 8-10 month recovery time.
