That's a terrible description of who Latrell Sprewell was.

eh, not really.

internet and social media just made it more obvious, but sports fans have always been prone to knee-jerk opinions.

I hate this comparison so much. It's basically "He jumps really high! I know, Gerald Green!"

Beyond the leaping ability and the fact that they're both perimeter players, they're not that similar.

When he starts playing SG full-time and the team gets smarter about moving the ball, he should improve a lot. He's actually a pretty good shooter - his catch and shoot eFG% is identical to Kevin Martin (albeit less attempts), but at PG he tends to iso and pull up for preposterous long 2s far too often.

I think the killer instinct is something you can't learn. I also really like his shot. Once he bulks up and realizes he can simply get to the hoop at will, he will be hard to stop.

The past few games he's gotten to the line nicely (5.5 per game over the last 4, 3.2 in the month of March) and if he can keep it up, his PPG will increase automatically.

What he needs is a smart PG to feed him the ball in positions he can benefit from. Hopefully Rubio can be that guy. I don't see him as the star (Kobe, Harden) on a team, but more a scorer like Klay who thrives off Curry. I'm not sure I would trust him running the 2nd unit as a 6th man, I think he would be better playing with the starters.

Well, Lavine is pretty much exclusively a perimeter player with leaping ability at this stage of his career. A good foundation to build upon if the lightbulb ever truly stays on though.

He's already a much better ballhandler than Green ever was or ever will be.

Seriously. Are we just ignoring the fact that Spree was a multiple time all-star, and one of the major contributors to the Knicks finals run in 1999?

And Ricky Buckets, for as much as I personally got a kick out of watching him play, was about a half step shy of Rasheed Wallace level crazy, without the pure talent to justify the behavior. A much less crazy, way less talented J.R. Rider may actually be a better Ricky comparison

Depends on one thing

1.) Work ethic/Drive
2.) Ability of Minny's FO to develop players

Kids has ELITE athleticism, is still growing , has vision and can shoot the ball(form at least).........whats there to really argue about? My only concern with him is he gives off the as soon as you pay me i'll quit vibe.

I already said that Wiggins and LaVine are the new McGrady/Carter not in terms of similar style of play, but in terms of similar potential. McGrady had similar stats compared to LaVine in his second year(except rebounds/game) while LaVine is still a rookie. Remember this post in 4-5 years.

from few times i saw him in UCLA and couple of times in the NBA, i just don't get the feeling that he's all that aggressive. hopefully that's not the case, or at least he'll improve on that front. dunks on breaks dont really mean a whole lot in the big picture.
screw these absolute garbage refs

He's a great dunker who get a lot of minutes and hype as a young player while being very bad (by NBA standards).

The question is whether he can develop into a useful rotation player while still on his rookie deal (right now he's got a very long way to go), or whether he has to take some extra years outside the NBA to become useful.

There is no room for hype. I respect you for what your currently putting on the court. Went through this with Giannis last year (not comparing their abilities)

To be honest he reminds me a bit of Curry in his rookie year. Has a decent skill level and shows flashes of being really good but is very weak/underdeveloped and not ready to play nba caliber defense.

RPM has him ranked as the worst player in the entire league.

I doubt any future star has started out dead last. His ceiling is probably a stat producer on a bad team.

I am purposefully going to take this out of context to feel better about Zach.

As for the thread, I think Zach can definitely become a good player, but he is absolutely horrible at basketball right now. He is just absolutely dreadful.

He and Klay Thompson have some similar facial features so...yes, he does look like a future star!
