I have no idea why the jump to Cousins is needed, it just seems unnecessary.

I hope they get convicted if they did it, and in my opinion, it is painfully obvious that they did it.

But damn....this could be really serious. First hearing is on May 7.

Reading - you're not good at it.

Just because it happened in January doesn't mean it was reported in January.

Logic - you're not good at it.

So what you're saying is...it's better to be Cousins then Twins?

I think those charges would be more applicable if a weapon were involved, no? Which it doesn't seem was the case. But either way, the current charges can apparently carry a 5-15 year sentence if there's a conviction so it's certainly not like this is something to be taken lightly. Both brothers could realistically never play in the NBA again, depending on how things unfold.

I spent time as a ASA in Illinois. In Illinois, by Statute Agg. Batt. is:

(a) Offense based on injury. A person commits aggravated battery when, in committing a battery, other than by the discharge of a firearm, he or she knowingly does any of the following:(1) Causes great bodily harm or permanent disability or disfigurement.

720 Ill. Comp. Stat. Ann. 5/12-3.05

I would think his injuries would be considered Great Bodily Harm, but maybe they weren't bad enough. If it is just battery bodily harm, (Class A Mis.) the media probably wouldn't report it.

Besides, most people don't know the difference between Assault and Battery. You don't need to touch someone to commit assault, just make them fearful.

They're so close they'll finish each others' sentences.

Sucks for the Suns, Markieff was turning into a pretty solid starter and Morris was a good role player. So what would the typical sentence be for something like this, if they're convicted?

Different states have different charges. In my state battery is a civil term, not a criminal one.

It's necessary when you have an agenda.

That's what happens when two people share a brain. You don't even get the functionality of one.

Interesting, I thought (assumed) most states kept it separate, to avoid confusion. Good to know.

Yeah, it's aggravated assault. If it's not one, then it's 13-1204 A.4:

13-1204. Aggravated assault; classification; definition

A. A person commits aggravated assault if the person commits assault as prescribed by section 13-1203 under any of the following circumstances:

1. If the person causes serious physical injury to another.

4. If the person commits the assault while the victim is bound or otherwise physically restrained or while the victim's capacity to resist is substantially impaired.

 Obviously if something like this happened in January it was reported in January. That's not even the point - it's self-evident. In what universe would something like this not get reported in our 21st century 24-hour-media/Twitter/TMZ sensationalize-for-ratings society?

Seems to me like we're getting half the story. I suspect that dude did something more than was reported to get beat down like that.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
