By the same vein, "good young player", or something of similar nature, seems to be used all the time by commentators who clearly haven't done their homework. Crappy stats? "Good young player, just need some more time." Mediocre stat? "Good young player, contributing to the team." Good stats? "Good young player, has played very well so far."
It's foolproof regardless of what the guy does.
A: "He's good young player."
B: "But he looks lost out there."
A: "NBA is a hard league. It takes time to adjust."
