Does it matter? That he made it at all is a problem and speaks poorly of him.

just wanted to know if his intentions are for others to see it.

Sounds like his phone got hacked, but even so- So what? Even if he didn't put it on the internet, he still did made it. What's the best case scenario? He recorded his teammate for the purpose of 'only' hanging it over his head in private? Some weird insurance policy?

In this case? Yes. "But that guy was cheating on his girl" is a pretty awful excuse for intentionally recording a coworker's dirty laundry clearly confessed in confidence for the purpose of having something to hang over the guy's head.

Being a snitch is far, far worse, especially in their circles.

Whatever the circumstances I'm sure Iggy appreciates knowing that her fiance is a cheating scumbag before walking down the aisle with him. And who's to say marriage would make him stop? That would suck for her.

Now she can decide if she loves him enough to go through with the marriage or give him his ring back and tell him to kick rocks.

If Nick Young never cheated, no viral video, no story. The end.

No wonder Byron Scott said the kid behaves like he is 14 years old. What a goddamn moron this Russell guy is.

There are ways to expose a cheater anonymously but that requires some semblance of intelligence. Unfortunately for Russell, he didn't even stretch his brain tho.

Both of them are scumbags in this situation, with both of their deeds being equally as bad. This coming from a Laker fan.

Once the Lakers waive him in the summer, he's going to sign a contract with Guangdong Southern Tigers or some Chinese club and Iggy was going to drop him anyways. His 20 seconds to fame last as long as he is relevant in LA.

I'm not at all an advocate for cheating. It's an invitation for completely unnecessary stress and drama as well as a poor presentation of yourself--HOWEVER, D'Angelo Russel may have just realistically "pranked" his way out of the league in his rookie season

Think about it. Who in the hell would want a guy like that on their team? As a coworker?

Nobody can convince me that his phone got "hacked". How many of us have had our phones hacked ever? Not likely. This child put his teammate on jump street and probably ruined his personal life. If you want my HONEST opinion, this reeks of intent to slide in on Young's fiancé.

FWIW I listened and couldn't actually decipher much of what Nick Young was saying, and don't see enough evidence to prove that the 19 yr old referenced was in play while Young was engaged or even dating his fiancé. In fact, Young candidly denied sleeping with someone else.

Long story short, I wouldn't respect far less trust Russel as a man far less his teammate. There's only one way that video got out, coincidentally to a celeb gossip site.... Psssssssh right.

I don't see how he was snaking his teammate. For one thing, he told him he was taping. For another, he didn't release the video himself. If Nick Young was really pissed about it he could've asked him to delete it or whatever. Maybe he did... but even then, I highly doubt D leaked the tape himself and am pretty sure his phone's security was compromised. I wouldn't say he's a scumbag or even a snitch.

Lots of ways it could've went down. Someone could've stole his phone or something, he could've left it unintended and a girl he was with saw it and sent it to herself, etc. He's a pretty famous dude, so there's definitely a motive for someone to slide through his phone.

Yeah, Nick Young shouldn't have cheated. But NBA players couldn't care less about teammates' faithfulness in relationships. They're much more concerned about how much they can trust teammates, especially with dirty secrets.

I don't know man. It literally took the FBI months to figure out how to get into an iPhone. I have my doubts that some groupie or thief managed to do this.

What reason at all would Russel have to record his boy dishing his indiscretions?

Now we know why George Karl wanted to trade for Russell so badly.

You don't have to decrypt it... maybe he puts his phone down, lock doesn't go on, groupie grabs it. Maybe she sees his code over his shoulder. Then again, this is sort of veering into tinfoil hat territory so it's likely I'm wrong.

I've yet to meet a woman that I thought would be happy with millions of people knowing her guy was running around on her. Maybe this one is different, but I'd suspect her feelings about it trend a lot closer to humiliated than happy or appreciative.

Nick Young is no saint, but frankly that factor of the video is relatively irrelevant to the criticisms towards Russell. The point is that D'Angelo Russell intentionally recorded his teammate's private conversation, that is absolutely unacceptable, Russell crossed the line by a mile.

I think this is awesome! You know if Nick wasn't doing the dirty on his missus this video would have never been made. Can't get upset at someone else for abusing your trust when that is what you do yourself.

I'm interested to know Russell's motivation. Was this pay back for something? Maybe he wants a chop at Iggy.

D'Tective takes an L for betraying the trust of a teammate (good luck trying to recover from that).

Swaggy takes an L for cheating on his fiance and getting his dirty laundry aired out on gossip sites.

It's not a good look for either party.
