Did you watch NBA that year or are you too young? Dirk DID take it to the hole back then, but you dont have to drive it to the hole to get fouled. The strategy against Dirk back then was to be physical with him all over the court and beat him up. The Heat were allowed to do that. Even Phil Jackson said that they were letting Miami mug Dirk and that DIrk should have gotten more calls.

The worst thing about that finals isn't that Wade got the most FTA's in the history of the finals, it's that the calls were so one sided. The Heat got calls while the Mavs didnt. The Heat were allowed to play physical against the mavs while the mavs werent allowed to even look at Wade without a whistle.

btw, about the picture of the foul Salvatore called with 1.9 seconds left in game 5. fyi, they called the foul on Dirk, not on Harris and when do you ever see touch fouls called with less than 3 seconds left at the end of a tie game in the playoffs much less the finals?

Anyway, nothing against Wade. He adjusted to the way that the game was being officiated. He did everything he could to win that series and left it all on the court. He was a warrior. (although the crap he talked about DIrk was uncalled for but Dirk got him back a few years later)...The problem with that series is with the refs and their one sided corrupt officiating.

Even if you think Dirk's foul wasn't hard enough to call at the end of a close game (probably doesn't get called in some close game situations), Harris' contact definitely was hard enough. If you have multiple guys pushing, why do you care who gets called for the foul? The refs see the impact, and called it on one of them. The fact that he had 25 free throws is not unheard of -- people like Jordan, Harden, Kobe, etc., have all done it and more before. And the one call everyone fixates on is actually correct.

Games 3 and 4, the other two heat wins, had zero controversy at all about them.

I know it's hard for Mavericks fans to re-watch the whole games (as a Heat fan you couldn't pay me money to re-watch 2011 finals), but if they actually did, there would be a lot less of this complaining. The BBallBreakdown video does a great job of analyzing the entire game and how it was called, as opposed to some bad quality cherry-picked youtube clips.

I am still going with the 2010 NBA Finals for that. What happened in game 7 was nothing short of a job imo. Ah well, no sense complaining about it now ..
