I love ET, but I am surprised at the size of this contract. I don't think the Celtics were prepare to pay that much. Losing Turner hurts the Celtics this year.

That's not the only skill needed in basketball.

The Blazers have plenty of floor spacing and Turner has a bunch of useful skills otherwise. He has a good midrange game and is a great point forward in the Shaun Livingston role, still absolutely insane that he is getting nearly 19 mil per year but I think its better hann paying Parsons more. I think ultimately he's a 4th or 5th starter/6th man type of player.

Do NBA players really so dislike Portland that they have to pay THAT to attract just somebody?

Guys chill the F out. This is equivalent to 11-12 mill a year under previous cap. Turner put up what 13/6/6? He's still got upside and is a great playmaker who can take pressure of Lillard as a pseudo point forward. I'd rather take Turner for 75 than Batum for 120.

When Jeremy Lin on a 12m per year is the best deal you know the new cap is insane.

Well...I like Evan Turner and he seems like a good fit for the Blazers but this seems like too much money

Every single thread so far is "OMG HE GOT SO MUCH OF DA MONIES"

This will actually hurt Boston, I thought he was a bit of an unsung hero there (save by his own mouth).

I agree that he has other skills, he seems to be a good playmaker and ballhandler.

But do the really need that? They have enough guys to create with Lilliard and McCollum, or will their fresh 18 M signing lead the bench unit? I don't see them coexisting.

BTW does anybody know the max for a single player in this new CBA?
With all these crazy deal's there's no way Lebron should make only 1-3m more than Batum.
