I don't think LaMelo and LiAngelo make it to the NBA anyway so they're pretty irrelevant.

Yeah I already hate the guy and don't want him on the Sixers.... and he hasn't done anything. His dad needs to shut up. His dad sounds like the sort of guy that when it comes to contract negotation time he will try and screw the team out of every last cent and make demands on the team etc. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

With all the ego's flying around at NBA clubs... I am sure wherever he goes there will more than a few players on Day 1 that are going to want to teach him a lesson from his own team to prove a point... never mind the rest of the NBA.

From what I have seen of Lonzo, Lavar has done a good job raising him. Can't wait till his kid(s) is in the league. Too late to stop the crazy talk though, he's in too deep so might as well embrace it.

I was thinking the same thing. Right now he's merely just a headache. If he actually takes on the role of agent for his son, I would stay the hell away from Lonzo.

Right, making shoes isn't like making a tshirt at the mall.

His shoe would be worse than Chinese knock offs if he even tried starting making a shoe now for his son. Actually I'd fear for Lonzo's ankles.

Everyone here is thinking extremely shallow, ive wondered for years why guys wouldn't do this is, the shoe companies are only what they are because of the athlete endorsements. Picture this, durant got a 10 year 300 million deal from nike, the year before that they sold 300m in kd gear, so why wouldnt the big guns (kd, lebron, harden, westbrook, steph) put up 10m and build their own company, doesn't take that much to build a brand when you already are one. All they are doing is being slaves to corporations, the best designers dont all work from these brands, you can find awesome designers on social media. Do 500 million in sales, then you start signing athletes and build your own business

The dad is a visionary. He is going to disrupt the shoe business. If Lonzo becomes a star player this new brand is going to gain instant success and credibility. Lonzo/Lavarr would stand to make a lot more from this than if he just signed to Nike or Adidas.

jordan brand IS nike. you cant just compete with these giants from scratch.

why doesn he want to do this instead of his son just signing a huge contract with a giant and not worry about anything? because he wants to be important.

Because there's a difference between being a millionaire and billionaire, i agree with the vision but you're also correct, what I'd advise my son do is sign a 5 year deal not even worry about the dollar figure, then if i believe he is a star, we'd do what marbury tried to do. Starburys only real issue was the cheap price point and marbury not being a big enough star. Lebron made a dumb mistake staying with nike, he could launch his own shoe company and do 100m in anually sales easy, then start signing guys to his brand.
