They have the best point differential in the conference despite playing tougher schedules than both the Cavs and Celtics. There might actually be a good case here.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Didn't they effectively admit defeat after last year's playoff loss to the Cavs? Either Lowry or Derozan said something like "yeah we lost because we don't have LeBron James." I had never heard players sound so hopeless after that loss.

Point being...they always look great in the regular season. But even they know what they're going to run into in the playoffs. SO does it matter?

Hmm this probably has nothing to do with Derozen scoring 37 last night. But no they’re 3rd or 4th. Still would take the Wizards over them.

Well Cleveland is #1. Boston has proved with their play they should get #2. Raptors I would say can arguable be #2/3. However, I think playoff series between most teams in the East such as Boston, Toronto, Washington, Milwaukee... those series could go either way.

Boston beat the Wizards last year and got way better, how do you take Wizards over them?

Maybe during the regular season. Let's see how well the Lowry and DeMar contested chucker show goes in the play-offs... again.

No, they're the best team in the East currently. Net rating has been superior to the Celtics for a while. Come playoff time I think they'll be 3rd or 4th.

Our 4 game lead on Toronto in the standings trumps point differential, which can be inaccurately tainted at times (see Wes Matthews 3 point shot at the end of our last game vs. Dallas).

IMO we're in the same class as the Horford Joe Johnson Hawks - 4-5 years in the playoffs only 1 ECF but nothing else substantial. Until DeRozan Lowry and the Raptors do something memorable for a few years they won't have great legacies unfortunately. They have 3 years to do it (including this year) before a rebuild through the draft.

Really hope we can pull off an upset against the Cavs before the Celtics or 76ers. Probably wont happen this year but maybe next year....

I think raptors are winning 60 games this year but talking about ranking I have no idea until playoffs

I personally think there's 1 great team in cavs and than a bunch of other teams

Like if I was pistons, wizards or Sixers I wouldn't be scared of Celtics, raptors or bucks in first round

The question should be is the Raptors the most over rated team in the east? They are very good but they are not as good as the Cavs or this year Celtics. They stay at the same level it seems from year to year, they need that one more piece to contend for the top sot in the EC. I love to see them try to add in a Paul George or a Masc Gasol and then take the league by storm!

You think top free agents would be looking at this roster and thinking, I could be the piece to complete this puzzle and win a NBA championship!

If you say so. Point differential has been proven a better indicator for future success than won loss record.

Nah you can't say the pistons are better. Drummond has a Lithuanian father.

Utah has the fifth bests adjusted net rating, are they better than the Cavs? These arguements :noway: Boston also has a better RPI and a harder sos, they also have more wins vs teams over 500 (including the Warriors and Spurs), but let's just put all those advanced statistics over things that don't mean anything, like the fact that Boston has a better record and has won the only meeting between the two so far(without Irving).
