If you score 20k points - you are basically guaranteed HOF. Only Tom Chambers and Antawn Jamison hit 20k and didn't make it and they barely scraped in. Joe Johnson even has a chance. Vinces cousin made HOF

Yep. He is going to hit 25K in points this year as well.

Skip made Stephen A looks reasonably intelligent and informed for years. That's how stupid the guy is. It isn't even worth wasting time discussing him.

This guy's only job is to say outlandish things for people to get outraged about. I don't even think he believes 90% of the stuff he says.

$5 million a year to say ignorant things about sports on National TV. What a time to be alive.

I didn't know you could be a hall of fame player and then get bounced out of the hall of fame for playing more years past your time.

If anything the longevity adds to his legacy...and for the record I am not that fond of Vince.

It's not a good look but I think he's cemented.

The off-season juice is getting dry at the moment, you'll continue to hear ridiculous things from Bayless/Stephen A until sports season starts. So far Skip is winning in blurbing out gibberish.

Disagree with Skip.......Vince has never been HOF level.

Resume:
All-NBA 2nd team - once
All-NBA 3rd team - once
Top 9 MVP finishes - never
NBA Finals - never
Conference Finals - once

What's Vince's argument other than being arguably the GOAT dunker.

So because he's opted to be a good mentor and continue to play for the love of the game... He's played his way out of the hall of fame?

Not sure who the bigger choad is, Bayless or Cowher. Both insufferable pricks of the highest order.

This whole idea of tarnishing ones career late is such humbug. Seriously, did Jordan playing for the Wizards diminish anything he's accomplished in his career prior to that?

Is Karl Malone not one of the best forwards to ever play the game because of his stint with the Lakers?

These guys all have a limited shelf life, playing the game they love at the highest level for as long as they're able to is commendable.

I think it's amazing to see guys like Jaromir Jagr play a sport at the highest level well his 40s.

Tarnishing their careers, please, just shut the **** up.

no one ever plays himself OUT of the hof. once you've established that you've played well enough to get in,,,you're IN.

of course, if oj simpson had done his oj thing before he got into the hof,,,well that's a different story

Not playing himself out more like injury but every past MVP winner has been inducted into the HOF but it is a question if Derrick Rose will break that trend?

I know. I was shocked too when MJ was disqualified from the Hall of Fame for those Wizard years.

Vince is preparing for like after basketball.

I will just try to do a little bit of analysis in the playoffs whenever there is some availability. Obviously, there’s a lot of guys doing it now and doing a great job of it. I’m just trying to prepare myself. Once my last days as an NBA player are done, I can transition into phase two, which I definitely would love to be in broadcasting, be a broadcaster or even some sideline reporting. I’ve been doing a little bit of that. Postgame reporting. Just a little bit of everything. I just want to be in the [media] business. I have a passion for explaining and talking about the game, like a coach. I see myself being able to coach in explaining the game to the listeners and the people that are watching the games. … I don’t know if I want to coach right now, but at the same time, being on-air, I can do the same thing to the fans and kind of break the game down how we as NBA players see it, which is a pretty cool source for the fans.

I assume you mean on your personal scale. Vince put up some pretty gaudy numbers...albeit not the best efficiency. 8x all star.

Career 20 / 5 / 4 guy. I would have him in

I don't like Vince but if Mitch Ritchmond made the hall of fame then Vince is easily in the hall of fame.

Gaudy numbers??

Again, he's never even finished in the Top 9 for MVP. Never been All-NBA 1st team. Only made 2nd and 3rd team ONCE. He has no business in the HOF.

20/5/4 with bad defense, and no Top 3 scoring finishes is just weak.
