Re: Tyreke Evans. Is he in the doghouse?
Well also have to take into account that the starting PG and C both play fewer minutes than the starting SG, which is Tryeke’s primary position, so the backup PG and C playing more minutes that him does make sense in light of that. Of course he can be given more minutes in a two big guard lineup, or in a three guard lineup where he’s the “SF”, but you do also have to think of fit.
He’s shooting pretty poorly from the line so far, and also not that well from the field, those should both go up and help his numbers.

Re: Tyreke Evans. Is he in the doghouse?
Evans usage last season leading to that production was primarily because the Grizz were so thin in the backcourt and Conley also missed the bulk of the season.
He's not in the doghouse. I would say he's just on a better constructed team running on full health.

Could they use a wing? What about an Ariza for Evans trade?

I think he's in the perfect role. Maybe he could play a few more MPG. Too many MPG and he's gonna get hurt again though.

Don't listen to him, Evans fits exactly what we need. A primary ball handler off the bench who can space the floor as well. Evans has been a bit inconsistent, but he's getting plenty of opportunities with the ball while out there.

He is playing so far 20mpg after 30mpg last season. But he can play easily 25mpg if he gets to play extra 5 minutes on PG role from Joseph. So far Evans played only SF SG position in Indiana 2nd unit rotations.

He had a good game against Boston and I think he got about 30 minutes that night. Then he stunk it up against Houston. Wasn't much better against Philly. Overall the people coming off the bench and getting more minutes (Joseph and Sabonis) have been better than him. He signed a show me contract and he frankly hasn't shown that much so far.
Must agree that Sabonis is a really good player. Sabonis is the Pacers' second best player. But don't think Joseph is better than Evans.

Tyreke replaced Lance Stephenson as the primary ball handler and shot creator of the second lineup. Not sure how that's a "wrong fit".

Re: Tyreke Evans. Is he in the doghouse?
Tyreke has the best role he could hope for on a good team. He is not good enough to be the primary ball handler of a starting unit on a good team. Off the bench that role for him makes sense. So far he hasn’t been effective on the floor with Oladipo. Since Vic plays big minutes that is a bit of a problem.

And Tyreke has shown he plays better when he starts and plays starter minutes
He's getting 10 less mpg than a year ago... Why?
Because Indy doesn't need him as much.
Hence the poor fit

He's best when he has the ball in his hands, which he does quite a bit for us. He is the primary ball handler off the bench.
I'm not sure how many teams out there you expect to give him 32 minutes per night and let him be "the guy", but I don't expect that to be the case in many spots.

But that's what HE needs to be effective. He's shown it throughout his career. Minimize his role, you get minimal output.

Okay, so what team is going to make him their star player that would be a better fit?

I never said he needed to be made a star.
I said he needs starter minutes to be effective.
He certainly got that in Memphis.
He' still would if he was there.
He'd get minutes in Orlando, PHX, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Detroit, Miami, Philly....
Hell he'd be a welcome addition on the Lakers

The minutes don't matter. He plays best when he has the ball in his hands. He isnt going to be running the team in most of those scenarios you posted. He got the chance in Memphis when everyone was injured, it wouldn't be the same with Conley running the offense now(until Conley gets hurt again). Maybe he could run the offense in Orlando, but he has spent most of his career on terrible teams, maybe he wanted to be on a playoff team again(was on one in NO, but looks like they got swept).

The minutes TOTALLY matter. Under 20 mpg he looks like crap. With 30+ he looks really good

Minutes don't matter near as much as the situation.
Him having the ball in his hands versus him playing off ball matter a hell of a lot more.

Re: Tyreke Evans. Is he in the doghouse?
He looks really underwhelming so far. His tunner vision is killing Pacers. The man looks incapable of passing the ball out to 3pt line on drives to the basket. He would rather choose tough shot over few defenders in the paint. 41.7% from 2pt and advanced stats don't lie. Only 2.4 ast. and he is usually sharing the court and playing pick-and-roll with Sabonis, one of the best rolling big men in the whole NBA. Lance and Sabonis had the better chemistry.
IMO so far Pacers Lance > Tyreke. Their stats are similar, but Lance was big emotional boost, especially, when playing at home. Very disappointing signing, I hope that he will manage to turn things around. First and foremost Mcmillan needs have a word with him.

Why would the Suns do this? This don't help LeBron in any way.

I know you're joking but it does seem like Ariza and Evans might be happier...Tyreke could start and Ariza might be better to start over Bojan who could come off the bench.
