If the reporter is, indeed, from Boston then this is pretty suspect.

If he really is causing trouble, they should consider trading him to a tank team. Maybe to the Knicks or something for THJ... I don’t know. It almost seems like lately Philly is better without him and he’s injured.
I could be overreacting though. He’ll probably stay w/ them and resign a long deal.

She's a national reporter though. She just wrote a story about Jamal Murray in Denver. She started in Boston in like the 1980s but since more or less works nationally for ESPN.

I know, I’m just saying most people know she’s from Boston. It’s no secret or anything

She did write an article bashing Belichick a few years ago on things that weren’t even true and never corrected it. So not like she’s a homer.

I have no dog in this fight but why would it matter where she's from? It's not as if this would force Philadelphia's hand or something especially if its untrue. I personally could believe it when you take Butlers history into consideration he absolutely has a reputation for being a malcontent and a disruptor.

Last time she reported on a team outside of Boston with the "LMA wants out of SA" it was completely BS.
Pop literally admitted she was right but alright![]()
Maybe it was true for a time but when the report came out pretty much everyone denied it.

Lakers make a lot of sense imo personality wise b/c of Lebron
Lakers would the need to move Ingram obviously. If they could move BI, Kuz, Lonzo, and picks for AD, they do it and make best big 3 in the NBA.

I believe he offers Philadelphia deeper lineup versatility, but lineups featuring Embiid Simmons and Butler are only +2.7 net pp100. That's pretty lackluster given the financial commitment to Butler past this season, age, and overall firepower.
Yeah that is probably a better way to phrase it. Despite having a +2.8 with Embiid/Simmons, he's +6.1 with Embiid and +4.2 with Simmons. Our record is 23-11 since he came on board compared to 9-6 without.

I'm curious what's maximum he can sign with 76ers?

I don't support a lot of JImmy's actions (there's a line leaders don't cross and he doesn't know where that line is) - but dude is in a tough spot.
The Sixers are soft and needed someone to give the team a backbone. Jimmy's trying to do that the only way he knows how, but it's just not an ideal fit until the other Sixers stars grow up.

Re: Jackie MacMullan: Jimmy Butler, 76ers on "thin ice"
Jimmy Butler is rapidly decreasing his FA money. His history of locker room friction has formed into a fact. Every team he has played on has had issues with his personality. He must realize with his attitude, injuries and AGE teams are not going to be knocking down his door to sign him this off-season if he continues on the path he is on.

It's horrible reporting. So you don't want to name your sources, I get that, but what does being on thin ice mean? Are the 76ers going to trade him, are they unhappy with his performance, are they not going to even entertain signing him when he become a FA? It's like she has left a door wide open, so if anything happens that is not positive she can say. "See I told you he was on thin Ice!"
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

No she’s not. She’s one of the best out there.
Based on a few of your posts in this thread, you seem pretty biased against her for some reason.
I still remember when all signs pointed to the Celtics wanting to retain Rondo, and she came out and torched the idea of that on fire; I remember all Celtic fans calling her out, but she was right in the end. Jackie M knows what she is talking about.

Though I'm not a native speaker, I'd say the meaning is obvious enough - you haven't yet 100% decided what you want to do, however you are not liking what you're seeing.

Re: Jackie MacMullan: Jimmy Butler, 76ers on "thin ice"
Simmons and Butler are getting alone fine. Their chemistry on the court is great. It's Joel and Butler who has trouble meshing on the court. Joel wants the last shot. Butler wants the last shot too. I think Brett Brown should settle it depending on what they need, a 2 or a 3. If they need a 2, Joel should get it. If they need a 3, Butler should get it. At no point should Simmons ever touch the ball in clutch time except to inbound it. Simmons should always be the de facto in-bounder in clutch situations. He's the best passer, and he's tall enough to see over the defender on the sideline.
