1. irrelevant to the Lakers
2. Could and most likely is a good thing in the long run for them. Magic wasn't committed and kind of sucked as a prez
3. Losing only helps their draft chances
4. same as #1
5. same as #2
6. *shrug*

All in all nothing listed is that bad for them as a team or franchise. They just need to make some good hires in the next few weeks and make a few good moves in the offseason. Same as before all the drama started.

Magic stepped down. Griffin stepped up in Nola. Could that be enough to stop the petty animosity? 1st order of business is the Davis trade.

Could Griffen do a solid for LeBron, and even perhaps Kyrie if he decided to carry Kobe’s torch while LeBron carries Magic’s torch. I think the Lakers do have the assets to get him. Even if the Laker lotto draft pick this year doesn’t shoot into the top 4.

McHale hooked up the Celtics with KG
West hooked up the Lakers with Pau

I could see Griffin hooking up LeBron and potentially Kyrie in a reunion because LeBron is at the end of his career and would be close to
retirement by the time Nola rebuilds. The timetables seem good. And the Lakers and Celtics trade packages will be very similar. Obviously it has to be the right package for Nola which means saying goodbye to a lot of great young players.

I hope Rob at least gets Griffin to give him the opportunity to out-bid the competition now that Magic is gone. I think that’s a possibility.

The Lakers are at least showing a concerted desire to improve. The big problem there will be if no one significant wants to play with Lebron. The other things aren't a big deal.

None of that matches, for example, the deaths of Reggie Lewis, Drazen Petrovic or Len Bias.
