They wouldn’t just ban someone for 2 years for one failed drug test though, right? It’s got to have been multiple times, right? Didn’t he have a “conduct detrimental to the team” type of suspension earlier on the season? Maybe that was a first or second offense.

He may really need help. He had such a great season last year too.

NBA should be looking to help a guy like this not just slap him with a 2 year ban. Not sure how many chances he’s had but still.

He had the talent to be an all-star but he was lazy as it gets. I think he was apart of a drive by shooting before he got in the league as well. Lazy druggie gangster doesn't deserve the privilege to be in he NBA.

there rules and he violated them, he’s not above them.

he chose drugs, these are the consequences.

Mayo was a fringe rotational player before his 2 year ban. Doubt he got better in the time off.

Exactly if it’s hard drugs the league should of learned from the Odom situation to handle these types of things with more caution.

Supposedly they do, I remember Brian Windhorst explaining this when NBA banned OJ Mayo.

NBA is much more lenient on drugs than other leagues. Don't you have to fail 5 marijuana tests before even getting a suspension?

Must be really bad to be "dismissed & disqualified". Hope he gets whatever help he needs.
