That, along with Drake acting like a clown on the sidelines, makes me delighted that Toronto is now back to reality.

It's true. So many of our fans thought we were better than the 72 win Bulls, it got ridiculous! /s

Our window was closing fast anyway.

Ecstatic with the championship, grateful for Kawhi's contributions, but now we move on.

Not at all.

They KNEW he wanted to go to an l.a team and they knew they were MEDDLING into his request to be traded to one of them.

Ujiri played the " im smarter than everyone" card and got him for basically nothing ( then repeated a similar b.s move to get Gasol).

So, he knew this was an outcome to be expecte3d.

to top it the b.s move actually delivered a title that they had not won ever before.

So .
No.

not at all.

Toronto showed Kawhi the time of his life and even won a championship. They deserved Kawhi more than both LA teams. Now we have to watch the Clippers dominate while chumps like Beverley run their mouth the entire time. Yuck.

bisme37 wrote:I do. Toronto fans are trying to act like it's fine so someone has to complain for them. They did everything right by Kawhi as far as his health, have a terrific coach and front office, a great city, adoring fans, and they just won a title for Pete's sake. And dude still bounced. He can obviously do what he wants as a free agent but I'm gutted for Toronto.

And I know the title makes it "worth it" but if I'm being honest I think I'd be even more butthurt if he left after we just won a title. If they fell short you could say Kawhi left to go compete, but leaving the defending champions makes it hard to not take personal imo. Just my take if I'm putting myself in Raps fans shoes.

Well said. The NBA is always more fun when a team tries to defend their title, especially when it's hard-earned like Toronto. If I was a Raptor fan I'd burn my Leonard jersey.

It's 1 /3 not 2/3 of the league. under 12 NBA teams have never won a championship.

My quick math says exactly 12/30 franchises have never won the NBA championship, and if you adjust for cities it’s 14/30 have never celebrated a win as the Hawks and Kings haven’t won for their current fan bases, they won in St Louis and Rochester. The Pacers and Nets won ABA titles.

A bunch of those championships have come while none of us are alive. Since 1980, most teams don't have titles. The 76ers have 1. The Lakers have a ton cause, you know. The Celtics have the 80s dynasty +1. And so on.

Feel kinda disrespected about the way Kawhi handled it this offseason. Esp how Danny Green wanted to run it back and he was waiting on if Kawhi would stay, but felt like Kawhi was just using Toronto as leverage to get what he wanted, after how good the organization was to him. Then he f'd OKC by tampering and pushing one of their stars STILL under contract to demand a trade to only 1 team. Never felt an emotional affiliation towards him so if he wants to leave fine, this whole season when he would talk about Toronto and the team he would say 'them' and not 'us', he knew he was gone.

I wanted Kawhi on Lakers or Toronto. Toronto knew what they were up against when trading for Kawhi. He never committed and that speech at the parade showed Masai he needed to plan otherwise. If a Ship doesn’t get you to run it back then nothing will.

Now, I don’t think he is going to like it in LA since it’s run by the Lakers. We shall see.

Not Yo Ham Lakers!

Ok 12 / 30, that's still quite a bit less than 2/3s.

Yeah, you won’t see Drake in the playoffs for another 20 years lol.

Raptors are now the worst team in the NBA.

I do, not because he didn't choose them but because he had no intention of going back from the beginning.
Just bought time for the Clippers to do their thing.
