Before he was traded, Rich Paul said that they were going to experience free agency and he was probably going to sign short contracts, and sign a 10ywar vet max in 2022.

If they don’t make the playoffs or lebron breaks his leg he will probably leave. Otherwise, stay on 1+1 deal.

I dunno if this is true. He left a Pelicans team that had Jrue and would have made the playoffs (they did the year before) he has also made it clear in interviews he is worried about his legacy and wants to compete for titles.

I think the threat is more real then Laker fans realize if the Lakers don't make a deep run and he doesn't feel Lebron can be his robin then there is a better then decent chance he leaves and teams up with another star. It will be interesting to watch anyways.

I don't think he'll leave, but he's smart to keep the Lakers brass on their toes. If this season for some reason goes haywire for the Lakers and he hauls ass, the Pelicans should build a statue in his honor because those Lakers draft picks will yield multiple high end prospects.

Yeah. Philly should make room for him or trade for someone like Butler.

You clearly never watched the video included in the tweet. Why take the time to comment on something without knowing the context first? You assumed wrong btw the question had nothing to do with the timing of a potential extension

Doesnt matter. He wanted Lebron and he wanted the Lakers specifically. Anything he says is lip service. He will re-sign next year for more $$ than he would get by signing an extension now

Well, it's the right thing to say. Kyrie, before the start of last season, basically promised to commit to the Celtics long-term. Look how that turned out when everything went to **** and he skedaddled to the Nets--Celtics fans are calling him a snake and slandering him for reneging on his word. Kemba was committed to staying with the Hornets as well, until ownership didn't want to pay him the supermax he earned.

Moral of the story: don't ever promise to stay with a team for the long term, because you never know what'll happen.

Yup, and the media will be making a circus of it all year long like the angsty teenagers they are.

Lol didn’t know Philly fans were that delusional. Embiid is one major knee injury away from being the next Andrew Bynum without the rings.

He won't leave. He has been very vocal about his love for LA and he lives there too.

Davis gets his lunch money stolen by Embiid every meeting. I didn't want to be the one to have to tell you

He's a decent player. Nice iteration of "disgruntled LeBron sidekick". He just can't hang with the true elites - Jokic and Embiid. Davis is in that next Junior Varsity tier. A good worker.

He wants to play in a big market. Zion + Jrue would be a good supporting cast already and he had no interest in staying.

Like I said, he may leave if LeBron breaks his leg.
