Voted Siakam.

Nominate VUCEVIC.

Gonna be pretty cool when the raps win 50 games without a top 25 player

What am I missing here? Mitchell isn't better than Lowry at much of anything. Not offense, defense, not nearly the TS%. Lowry has over double the assists, while they have equal turnovers. Lowry is even a better rebounder. Seems like he's being severely underrated at this point, and Mitchell the opposite.

Since this is list for top 25 players next year people overrate player that have potential over older players and players that are healthy over people that will miss part of the season. Every young player could theoreticaly have huge jump and even become superstar so people compare superstar projection of the Mitchel or any other young player to older players like Lowry, Aldridge, Derozan altough maybe those young guys will never reach same heights as these players. Rules should be changed and we should vote for top 25 players in season that just ended.

It’s funny how Simmons came second in the vote for 21st best player (ahead of Mitchell). Now in the vote for 22nd best player Simmons is again coming second (this time behind Mitchell). Comical, the logic of this thread. Let me guess, he will come third when voting for 23rd best player and then not get voted in top 25 best players

Or maybe it's just that the same people (his fans) vote for him over and over again, while the rest of the people just vote for who they think is best.

I’m just sort of confused as to why Simmons is going to rank behind all 3 of Doncic Mitchell and Holiday when he ranked ahead of them last year. Then this year Simmons was the only one to make the all star game (and no one was arguing at the time that he only made it because he’s in the east) and he got the most all NBA votes.

Yeah his numbers were bad in the raptors series but (1) he was being covered by the best player in the world (2) he was better than his rookie year in the playoffs when people voted him over these 3 (3) he had a legit good series against the Nets (4) it’s not like any of those other guys did anything in the playoffs either.

Like, Donovan Mitchell literally shot 32% from the field in the playoffs this year. He had a 42 TS%. And he was being covered by like James Harden Eric Bledsoe and Austin Rivers. He had a 6.8 PER. Meanwhile awful Ben Simmons had an 18.0 PER. Which guy’s game doesn’t translate to the playoffs again?

It’s just sort of bizarre to me that people only hold Simmons not outplaying the best player in the world while giving every other young player a pass.

Or how we won the title with only one player in the top 25. Truly incredible.

I voted for Siakam, and that's based on his playoff and Finals success, specifically against Draymond. It was awesome to see his growth in such a pressure packed situation where a team is trying to win a Finals game on the road, and a 26 and 10 game with multiple big plays down the stretch showed me that he's on a tier above Mitchell and Simmons as of right now. Yes, he was the 2nd option for the Raptors. However, I felt that Golden State's gameplan was to limit him as much as possible and let Kawhi do the majority of the scoring, but Siakam was just too good at gaining position on Draymond and using his length to dominate him. I strongly believe he takes the next step in 2019-2020 to becoming the face of the Raptors franchise going forward and an All-star/All-NBA type player for many years to come.

Siakam is probably the "safe" pick because of his blend of current value and upside. He is my vote here.

CP3, Lowry, and potentially Conley are the best current value (or should I say last year value) players, but I think all are due for some age related regression that has already begin. All are injury risks as well.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but as far as the upside picks I think Tatum and Mitchell seem most likely to make a sizable jump as third year players coming of sophomore slumps. Good rookies tend to stagnate or stall in their second seasons and then breakout in the following years. Team USA has also proven to be a launchpad into quick development and breakout seasons.

Ben Simmons is a good candidate, but I don't see the natural path to improvement. At this point, I'll only believe in his jumper when I see it. I'm not going to count on it improving. His game is already so good in the other areas, it's hard to see him having a breakout season without adding the jumper. I suppose his defensive +/- could catch up with his defensive box score...that could be what convinces me that he's cemented himself as a top 25 player.

It is because the Philly faithful has been voting for him since #15 while most other people arent as high on him. It isn't surprising really.

Mike Conley stays disrespected. He's better than the top two in the lead right now.

I'd take Siakam over Donovan any day of the week.
Take him over Simmons most days of the week.
Siakam outplayed Simmons in the playoffs even with a calf-contusion.

Siakam > Simmons > Mitchell
