The « it would have been good if it went in » crowd are really funny. There’s a reason why it missed so badly despite being a shot from the restricted area. He was out of control and it’s a bad move (not sure it can be called a move if you've never practiced it before).

If a guy shoots from Half court with 20 seconds left on the shot clock, would people be saying: « it would have been cool IF it went in »?

Good idea but pretty much impossible to convert with the way he was aiming for the basket. He would have had a better chance if he tried to bank it. This is basically a John Wall's in air spin move + a pivot spin move beforehand. But JW's spin move was always controlled, i.e., slow and calculated. This one looked like he improvised, which to his credit was creative.
