I mean if they really want to make sure guys aren’t doing drugs they should test them before every game. Or at least make them more frequent. The random stuff just makes guys think as long they aren’t picked they’ll be okay to use.

Lamar Odom had kidney failure, multiple strokes and heart attacks after many years of drug abuse. That was just two years after he finished playing.
This should give you idea how much NBA players get drug tested.

So basically its easy to avoid being drug tested if you just avoid overly athletic plays. you'll still get all the other benefits and advantages though.

As long as they are testing more or less "randomly" or at least not abusing it (for example testing the same guy a few times before testing others) it's fine.
The players should get accustomed to that. Don't see any harm if they test you a couple of time during the season.
