Haha touche. I guess we did get lucky with someone like Harrell. Doc was close to cutting him too!

Complained all summer on the Mavs board on why they signed Powell over him with little or no traction.

Good to see he's getting the love he deserves. That late steal-breakaway dunk and D on CP3 at the end was great

Very happy for Richaun. Always shined through like a diamond among the turds with his positive energy on those tanking Sixers teams.

Really wanted Celtics to sign him as our potential starting C and if he couldn't defend the pick and roll well enough then he'd be an amazing backup big man.

Great awareness, hands and motor.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

So he really is like a Montrezl Harrell type? I'm thinking Harrell is much better at getting bucks though.

Doesn't have quite the nose for boxing out, or motor like Harrell but yeah, he's like 75% of Harrell with probably better overall stretch ability.

Holmes' problem on the 76ers was that he made constant mistakes on the Defensive end and he almost never played on a team with a good pick-n-roll PG. He got lost on rotations, never boxed out or got Defensive rebounds. He also regressed as a shooter through the years as a 76er. Although much of his offensive problems were probably due to the offensive system (very little pick-n-roll) and complimentary personnel, he probably could have shown enough to get a good 2nd contract, if he was a consistent shooter. He was talented, but he just wasn't doing enough positive things, when he was on the court.

Confused as to why Richaun is lumped in with those two guys? He was never even in consideration for a deal like that as in Nerlens' case or publicly said that's what he was looking for as in Willie's case. Completely different situations than those other two.

thread title is the only reason , assume the thread starter wants him to get his brinks truck one day

Loved him with the Sixers. Super energy guy, like the energizer bunny, and you're guaranteed to see one of his patented monstrous dunks at least once per game.

Glad he's doing well out in Sacramento.

SAC fans, has his defense really been good? It was consistently bad with the Sixers, despite some sweet chase-down blocks here and there. I loved Richaun--dude is instant fun to watch--but wasn't too sad to see him go because of that defense.

Suns definitely could have used him this year so far given their circumstances. His cap hold was so low I thought it was dumb they let him go. And his mom on Social Media was fun.

I was always championing Richaun. Early in their rookie years, I argued that he should have been playing over Okafor, even though Okafor was picked third that season and Richaun was a second rounder. It was very clear that Richaun was the better player. I was upset we traded him for cash.

Absolutely. Honestly, I'd classify him as a pretty smart defender too. I'm guessing he's just made pretty significant progress there. He can get a little pushed around by bigger centers, but he's good at protecting the rim, and amazing at switching onto smaller players.
