Oh, come on. All sportsmen say and think things like this. It’s part of how they build the cognitive dissonance to have the borderline delusional confidence that is necessary to play like no one is better than you.

Who the **** gets irritated because of some generic post game interview?

This is so embarrassing. Why is anyone a Kawhi Leonard fan?

Must say, I feel better about this outcome after Bucks-Lakers 2.

Not sure the Bucks can stop the Clips if they meet in the Finals.

Come on, man don’t pretend like you want LeBron to “keep it simple” and be some kind of terse robot like Kawhi. You are obviously a passionate fan but you are a drama queen and you love when LeBron gives you click bait (even though he didn’t say anything controversial at all here).

I don't think I love it. It annoys me obviously. Just like Jared Dudley who doesn't even play, talking trash about how we have never won anything and how both teams at their best, the Lakers definitely win etc. Notice none of the Clippers players have talked about the Lakers in post game pressers lately?

I think that if you are honest with yourself, you like being annoyed. That’s part of the drama. If your team won every game by 20 points and never had any controversy, you’d be bored (this is one reason why no one really cares about the Bucks).

The thing is, LeBron is right. The first game of the season is completely meaningless regardless of the strength of the teams (recall Boston waxed the Decision Heat in their first game together and the Heat embarrassed them in the playoffs five months later). The Christmas game was close and could have gone either way. This should be a good battle between two teams at full strength. These are all things he said. An “excuse” would be if he said he was injured so he wouldn’t be giving his full effort.

As far as the Clippers not making “excuses”, have they even been asked about this game?

They will do stuff like this, then if they lose talk about how the game doesn't matter at all. As for the Clippers talking, we've been dealing with this dynamic for years. Clippers players rarely if ever initiate the drama verbally in post game interviews

Why do some people continue to think that the outcome of random regular season games actually matter? Even Kawhi has called the regular season, 82 exhibition games.

Misleading thread. LeBorn said the complete opposite, that there is no excuses for Sunday.

Except he didn't make excuses for Sunday even though he could've. Lebron went all out like it was a playoff game last night, and Clippers haven't played since Thursday. There's your excuse, and it's legit. Add in the fact that it's a day game and we're unlikely to see Lebron's best effort whether he wants to or not.

This is called trash talking and I’d think you’d be familiar with it since Pat Beverly is one of the biggest trash talkers in the league. But since he is on your team, I’m sure you consider his in and post game bravado to be “passion” and “grit” and not what it really is.

Both teams will be fully healthy and rested on Sunday.

No excuses for either team.
I've praised the Lakers enough lately to prove otherwise. This is specifically about LeBron's off the court comments. Not the Lakers as a team or their play on court.

No one ever said "the game doesn't matter at all". Except maybe Kawhi.

But come on man...Dudley is talking about Championships. You're talking about regular season games.

Technically he's correct. There is no rivalry between the Lakers and the Clippers from a historical perspective.

Maybe Clipper players don't talk a lot because they know their franchise has 0 rings.

And is currently in 2nd place behind the Lakers.

You want them to brag about winning 2 regular season games? They know better than that.

We both know if the Clippers win the Championship you will be talking trash. And so will they. That's how it works.

But until then the Lakers still have the historical bragging rights.

It's all in good fun. Get over it.
