Top 10 Non-PG/SG Passers of All-time

Rick Barry should be on the list. A great passer.

Barry was amazing and is underrated (possibly due to being in the ABA and an ****), but I think you missed the thread title which is Non-PG/SG, easy to not see the SG part.

Nowhere near the top 10 (not even top 200), but Andrew Bogut comes to mind as an underrated big man passer. The Warriors first championship had him making an insane amount of passes, I really miss that offense. It's crazy when you look at his stats how few APG he had that year, tons of the offense flowed through him.

Barry never played as a guard.

I'm very happy to see some people mentioning Sabonis. His passing ability always blew my mind. Outlet passes are very important for post position players, and Arvydas, on top of all of his amazing half court offense passes he made, is the only guy Ive ever seen pull down a rebound, get smothered, and perform a perfect pin point outlet pass behind his back. Not behind his back in a hook like fashion, but behind his back by lobbing it in a chicken wing fashion from the small of his back. Totally blew my mind.

Bill Russell needs love. Guy put up good assist numbers in the 1960s. His outlet passing allowed the Celtics to have great fast break offenses.

Late career Wilt Chamberlain also became a good passer. He actually let the league in total assists one year.

Good list although I wouldn’t have Noah or Turk on it. Both were very good passers but far from elite imo. Diaw is clearly better than both as is Marc Gasol.

Is Simmons a PG or not? Harden. Pippen. Ginobili is underrated. Blake Griffin. Garnett. Draymond. Giannis is fantastic. Wade. Jordan. Bill Walton. Iguodala.

shout out iggy. Man is super underrated because he wasnt the most aggresive star in his prime.

Even if Bird is a better passer than Lebron, the gap aint that big.

Look at highlight reels of each for passing. Notice touch passes, that’s an easy way to see the difference in skill, vision and ability. Kicking to a guy where the double team came from requires way less skill and natural passing ability. LeBron has gotten better and deserves credit but Bird was throwing superior passes in college. Also, LeBron plays PG on offense and is excluded by the OP.

His GOAT IQ allows him to always make the right pass as well. As we've seen in countless Finals. He never makes a bad pass. They are always crisp, accurate and very satisfying to the eye.

He has definitely improved over his career and added more elements. He is also good at making the right pass. None of that puts him in the same league as a savant passer like Bird. Bird makes touch passes James never sees, he simply processes as a different speed and has superior vision. James is a PG too.
