I prefer Kyle's style of play over Kemba but that's just my homer opinion. People who like Kemba more are also right, it's about fit and need.

Kyle can score but was never the guy you relied on as a primary scorer, he's a good floor general and he'll be active on defense drawing charges.

Kemba is a good playmaker, floor general but a better scorer.

Some Pacers fans were super gung ho about picking him up awhile back, and that's one aspect that worried me about the idea.

Lowry can guard the 1- 3. Let's make that very clear when we're discussing his defense

Dunno, but that would be a series I would pay to see. Celtics vs Raptors. Other than LA V LA, these 2 teams have great matchups especially this one Kemba vs Lowry, and I would call it even.

I'm not sure anyone who doesn't have these players on their team even cares about a comparison of two 30 something year old PGs.

They are what they are. Both could fall off any season at their age.

damnnn kemba is 30????
time flies. i thought he's 27 or something.
In this case Kemba better go all in this year, and for his next contract.

walker vs lowry ( vs holiday vs wall vs IT ) reminds me of 2016 when times were simpler.

Walker is scoring 1.5 more points slightly less efficiently than Lowry this season, and scoring is the only thing you could possibly argue Kemba does better

I dont even think Kemba is a better offensive player. Better scorer maybe, but Lowrys playmaking is way better than Kembas. Other than this year when they've been decimated by injuries, Raps have been a top 6 offense each of the previous 5 seasons

You can argue, at least for Kemba, that he isn't even the 2nd best player on his own team. Factor in his age, I think it's largely an irrelevant comparison. Lowry has also proven himself to have done more than Kemba at this stage so I don't even think it's a question that Lowry is better at the moment.

They're hardly the players people are interested in on their teams nor the best players on their teams.

The main question is at age 30 can Kemba keep it up and at age 34 will Lowry keep it together. Small PGs over 30 fall off a cliff with just a loss of a millisecond of their current athleticism.

That's what this discussion should be about, which one will still be a borderline all-star level player next year.

Let’s not get carried away. Giannis, by far the best player in the conference, still resides in Milwaukee.

I’m biased, Lowry is my guy so I’m going with him, but Walker has improved so much since his first 2-3 years in the league that I’d love having him on my team as well. It’s incredible that Boston is so much better this season without Kyrie poisoning the atmosphere (and other key players missing) and Walker being a great teammate with a great attitude is a huge part of that.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Yeah it's pretty absurd to think the Celtics with Lowry would be challenging MIL.

And while the lack of having the biggest poison in the NBA of Irving has helped. I think part of the reason that the Celtics team is doing well is because no one can play well with Irving and Walker plays a conventional game instead of a dribble, grab 3 defenders, shoot a shot over 3 people.

Walker instead does the traditional drive and kick game to get others open shots along with getting in the top 5 or 10 or so in charges taken every season on defense right with Lowry. And that just helps the entire team and it's no surprise with his complementary and more PG type game that suddenly Tatum and Brown have gone off. Neither Brown nor Tatum are yet at an offensive ball in his hands every play lead person and benefit from having an actual PG setting up players with his drive and kick game and running plays. As well as forcing the opposition to guard him with that 37% from 3 on 8 attempts per game (also just like Lowry).

Honestly I think the best way to describe Kemba is he's Lowry but instead of the high aspg he's got the Irving ISO and scoring ability. Similar level players in a different flavor but I 100% doubt Tatum or Siakam would have had the success they've had without those critical team players skills (top 10 in charges on defense every year, 7+ 3PA on high %s every year, running the offense either drive and kick with Walker or tremendous passing to undress the defense in Lowry).

Again let's just hope they can keep it up for next year and we get to enjoy it. For each player every year could be their last year as a solid borderline all-star level player.

Kemba is clearly the better player. But Toronto fans are loyal so this thread exists.

Kemba is the better scorer but Lowry is the better defender (team or 1 on 1), playmaker and has more impact overall on the game.

All you Raps fans talking smack about Kemba... you guys realize dude is about to drop a 50 piece on your heads right?

Seriously KW and KL are apples and oranges at the PG position so I guess it's fair to take your pick of whomever you like better. But I do feel like Kemba is pretty underrated at this point. He was banged up earlier in the year and simply doesn't have to score a ton for this Celtics team because there are 3 other guys who can go off on a given night.

But there aren't many players who are All-NBA and All-Star starters even when they're on teams with crappy records (Charlotte), and Kemba is that guy. Dude is legit and I'm looking forward to him reminding everyone.
