I'd be just as worried about the generational talent number 1 overall pick who can't keep weight off of his awkward knees

Pelicans have the pieces to be the future of the Western Conference but I'm wondering if their young guns can take it seriously enough to realize their potential

He's a terrible shooter and won't have a long NBA career.

The Lakers basically traded Ingram and picks for Davis. Pels should have tried to get Kuzma or Caruso instead of Ball.

I still think he's the second most important piece on the pels due to how I see him working with Zion. Hopefully pels can sign him for a bargain.

Lonzo is a backup caliber PG. He'll never learn how to shoot. He just got hot this year from 3, very much like Draymond Green did in the 2015-16 season. His defense has gotten worse, and his assist to turnover ratio has too. He's not very good and has shown very little improvement in his 3 years in the league. A guy like that isn't even going to learn how to shoot or finish around the basket. His absolute ceiling is Ricky Rubio and even then its very unlikely he reaches that.

Hard to say it as Lonzo is a nice kid and talented in some respects... but I think we've seen a lot from him to understand that at best he's a back up PG for an average team.

I think he should concentrate next year to improve and take it seriously to get another longer term contract.
Because with such performances there might not be a market for him, o more realistically he will get a short term small amount deal...

If the Pels don't value Lonzo as much as they did, I would seriously give Griffin a call if I was Cuban. Lonzo with Dallas would be a terrific as all he has to do is fill a 3&D type of role while also acting as a secondary ballhandler to allow Doncic to play more off-ball on O as well as giving them a really great sized perimeter guard.

Not really saying much considering his advanced defensive metrics are horrid. Hell he was a worse defender than Lebron last year which takes some real effort.

Another case of a guy who didn't prepare himself for the bubble. Probably spent everyday ordering chili cheese fries

Read on Twitter

NOLA was a massive disappointment in the bubble, but I don't see that as foreshadowing for next year. Zion needs to get his body right and they take it from there. Ball needs to build on what was a solid season overall.

he changed his shot up a lot even from before the pandemic hit. He is adjusting still. I think he will be awesome next year. The final step is finishing at the rim and drawing fouls for him to be a an upper tier guard. Sky is the limit for Lonzo Ball.

The guy is a utility player. Unfortunately, hes going to be a streaky shooter his entire career. I actually like his fit in NO.The team was not realistically making the playoffs with zion playing under 30 games this season.

Me too. Just before the Covid stoppage he was looking like he finally turned the corner, but now he has played exactly like he always played. Hes just a terrible scorer. I will give him 1 more season but it really concerning to see him reverting again to this.

Not going to judge him too much based off his bubble performance. No matter his production the question with Ball to me is always not whether or not he becomes an all time great or how many all star appearances he has but will he end up being a top 5 player from his draft class. Cause if you don't think he can or will be than yes he is a bust especially since he was taken at #2.

So far I think you can say for a fact that these players have eclipsed him and he probably won't be better than:

Jayson Taum
Donovan Mitchell
Bam Adebayo
De'Aaron Fox

There are probably others you can have a debate who are arguably at his level or better.

He is too concerned about "building his brand". Like Giannis says if you produce that other stuff will come. Big Baller Bust!!!!

Meh. The kid's development is a year delayed because of Magic's incompetence. The day this kid landed in a practice facility he should have been working on his 3pt shot intensively. Magic had him bulking up his first summer while the kid was 2 years behind on shooting. Didn't make any sense.

He'll be fine. It's not his fault. His dad and first GM gave him bad advice. He seems like a hard worker so I think his 3pt shot will be respectable next season. He was horrible when the going got tough.
