I've been a Spurs fan for a long time and i don't remember anyone ever calling SA a superteam ever  I'm a Bron fan but come on now.

He did face some of the best teams ever in the Finals though, that is not really arguable

lebron is the superteam who has been the clear-cut best player in the finals 8 times now battling superteams throughout his career and barrying injury will end up with 40k/10k/10k while leading his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks most of the time.

lebron beat the best regular season team of all-time in 73-9 warriors in the finals and after loss the warriors all-stars cried and called another prime mvp for help because lebron "a one man dynasty" in their minds was just too much to handle. the only reason they won the previous year was because you can only do so much with dellavedova and mozgov. they got huge contracts shortly after because that's what lebron does, he makes his teams look like superteams.

goat.

jordan was great at scoring points in the watered down 90s while his hof teammates did the rest.

2012 OKC were super talented but way young. KD/Russ were 23 and Harden 22. They weren't yet the players they'd become.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

they may have been young but going in to the finals they were the favorites after beating the defending champs dallas (#7), lakers (#3) and the spurs (#1) who were the juggernauts of the west at that time. don't get it twisted, that okc team was one of the best superteams in nba history.

LeBron is great. A top ten all time player. But let’s just allow the dust to settle on his career and a few years to go by. This LeBron stuff is getting out of hand. Eras change, valuations change. We’ll know more later. For now, he is an all time great. Let’s just let it rest and season and then we’ll know more (zero chance of this happening as another under 30 Bron stan is crafting a general board suckup post as I type this).

HypeMode wrote:One underrated aspect of LeBron's career is just how many loaded teams he has faced in the finals. In his 10 finals appearances, he played a superteam in 8 of them. No superstar in history has faced that stiff competition in the finals. He was consistently facing teams with 3 or 4 all-stars/HOF on a routine basis. The fact that he has 4 finals against that competition is a testament to his greatness.

Duncan (HOF)
Manu (HOF!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
2012 Thunder:
KD (MVP)

2014 Spurs:

KD (MVP)
Klay (All-star)

Iggy (All-Star)

okc was too young , NBA history will tell you that never works ,,,,,,except ONCE - the 77 blazers.
and okc only went to the finals that one year, so they couldn't very well be called "super" as that roster could not sustain

also to compete against those great teams LeBron had to create two super teams himself. in other words the ante was upped on BOTH sides. so if this a another mj versus lebron thing,,,mj did not go out and create a super team as lebron did

and BTW you're bastardizing the term "super team". the celts had a big3 which they traded for. I don't recall the use of the word super. lebron codified it by actually manufacturing his super team. if you go by that origin of the term, as I do, the only "super team" lebron faced was gsw+kd. pre kd gsw doesn't fit the description - they were just simply a great team, as was the spurs. so lebron actually played on 8 super teams and he just faced ONE, making his 4of9 an underacheivement. sas and gsw were just too damn good at building a team so lebron had to go create a "super team". oh and, after sas trounced miami in the revenge series, proving that the previous year was a farce,,,,,lebron ran back home. he didn't fit riley's idea of a hard player i guess.

and wade/bosh didn't even want to play in cleveland. "we love you and want to play with you, lebron, BUT NOT THAT MUCH". so lebron failed. he had to become a joiner! LMAO

Agreed, except for the one and only exception: KD joining 73-win team with 2-time defending MVP.

Solid chart!

And for those of you complaining the Spurs guys or Kidd are not in their prime. Well neither were Stockton, Magic, Worthy, and Divac (and speaking of Divac, how the hell is he in the HOF?).

LeBron had the super team (4x with Heat) more than he played against the super team (2x vs Durant Warriors).
