He's a great athlete but I never loved this pick. He always seemed like just kind of a raw athlete without nuance. He doesn't seem like a primary ballhandler/playmaker type of guard

It's early but Ball, Haliburton & Wiseman look very very good so far. Minnesota's culture is clearly an issue. Even Wiggins has been somewhat decent for the Warriors.

He's a player I'd wait for 3-4 years in the NBA system before calling a bust.
he doesnt even like ball and prefers football. whats the point of wasting a top 5 pick on him?
Michael Jordan seemed to like baseball a whole lot. I wouldn't have minded drafting him though.
i guarantee you mj would not be close to goat if he didnt take it seriously as edwards. totally different.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

When is the last time a SG was drafted #1 overall? I just remember the year McLemore was being talked about as a #1 he was gonna be the first in a while.

Wiggins isn't really a guard like that. I guess teams play him there in the NBA but he was a SF entering the draft.

Yep. Same organization who wasted an all time great like Garnett. They won’t get it right with this new generation either.
With that said, Edwards needs time but IMO he won’t live up to number 1 status.

Obviously it's only the first month of his first season so I fully expect him to take big steps in the coming years but if he just stagnates I don't even have him on the All-Rookie second team. But I would imagine he improves. He can't get worse. Right?
his stats are almost EXACTLY the same as in college.
what kind of logic drove people to think his numbers would get better in the pros. what's worse,,,he said the pros have been easier because they're not doubling him

Could you have come up with a worse argument?

Re: Ant-Man ain't it
I think alot of the the blame has to be put on their new head coach Ryan Saunders. Hes a young head coach only 34yrs old and seems like hes too lax with the players instead of holding them accountable. The individual pieces the wolves have are talented but there is no cohesiveness in their offense from what I've seen bc there is no system set in place it looks like there just playing AAU or pick up ball out there. Edwards did pretty well early on to start the season but after his minutes slowly got reduced little by little each game hes been struggling badly. The coach needs to instill confidence in his player by first of all, starting him and putting the ball in his hands more. Edwards is a talented offensive player but like alot of scorers hes a player that is much more comfortable with the ball in his hands more than playing an off ball role which he is currently doing with dlo and rubio handling the pg duty.. at the very least the coach should draw plays for him which instills confidence in the player. Let him make all the rookie mistakes. Wade avg 3 turnovers a game his rookie season. Keeping a #1 pick coming off the bench instead of starting him when the team is struggling this bad is just a horrible look on the organization. They have no direction.

The "street cred" talk is getting out of hand. I had to google what "no cap" means and i thought its an addition to the english language that was not really needed

Re: Ant-Man ain't it
I understand but...
Every now and then he does something, or makes a move that only maybe 4 or 5 other wings can do, from an athletic standpoint. He is ELITE first step and leaping ability, like, every once is a while he'll make your jaw drop.
You don't give up on that or label too soon. I will admit that he has an uphill battle, being on a horrific team and the questions about his love for the game but...
There is too much body, too much jump and too much pop to just cast him out.
You gotta wait much longer then this.

Give him time. Most of these rookies are at least year 2 and 3 types before they’ll hit their stride.

Give him some time, even guys like Luka didn't blow up the league in his first 15 games in the NBA.
That said, I seriously doubt the intelligence of someone who would rather get CTE and earn way less money in the NFL over the relatively easy gravy-train that is the NBA, I sure hope MIN knows when to cut bait given how their previous #1 pick wing worked out

The wait 3/4 years talk is off. He's pick #1 and he's getting mins. If he's an ugly duckling for 2/3 years, what are the chances that he blooms into a beautiful swan? If you wait 3/4 years to judge a bad #1 pick, you're likely to end up the last one on the bust train
