He's got the talent. There are going to be a lot of skilled players in the league. If he can make an All-Star game in the next 4 years, I'd consider an MVP as a possibility. Most MVP's made an All-Star game by Year 4.

I'm just here for the ride. It's fun. Easily the biggest gap between floor and ceiling in the league as a prospect. But he's definitely made improvements from beginning of the season to g league to now, so that's a good sign.

Wow what a funny player. The handles seem real. Looks like he weighs 150 pounds though. I love boom or bust prospects. I’d buy a seat on his all star bandwagon. His shooting form seems to waste his height though.

It wouldn't surprise me. He's super raw and his jump shot is pretty bad right now, but he already has a lot of traits you look for in star players. I think his development will look similar to Giannis. Really all comes down to how much he wants it. If everything goes wrong, he could easily just end up being another Nikoloz Tskitishvili.

By the way, does anyone else think he looks like a stretched out Bobby Hurley?

Have you? I think he'd be lowest picked player to ever win MVP. Behind Nash and Giannis.

if he doesnt get hurt before he devolop the body I like him. OKC got him and moses brown this year while the rest of the league was complaining about big market teams.

NBA is so stupid sometimes, great Euroleague players bust, meanwhile Aleksey freaking Pokusevski putting 20 point games in his rookie season, how does that make any sense lol

Jokic this year. Second round pick.

Horrible body. Skilled big who developed and body got in line.

I think that is the best like comparison.

we all know he does special things but so does Bol who is another unicorn.
The NBA has so much talent I just dont think these guys are valuable as back in Giannis days when he was the first of a kind.

I don't know about getting an MVP, but I like his game. Very smooth, and skilled for a tall skinny rookie. If he doesn't fill out properly he'll probably end up as another KP, showing flashes but missing 20+ games every year.

Exciting time for OKC fans though. I think they have a solid group of young players, and they have a great team culture. With all those picks coming coming up, I think there's a better chance that they win a title over the ten years over Aleksej winning an MVP. With all the whining coming from small market teams, they need to be looking at how the Spurs and OKC operate. You don't have to be a sexy market to build a good culture and acquire assets.

I think Bol Bol has a better jumpshot, but he seems to lack the fluidity and passing ability that Poku shows on a nightly basis. And in the NBA, being able to move well as a seven footer is an extremely important skill.

Of course Bol Bol gets garbage time minutes on a playoff team, while Poku gets force-fed minutes on a tanking team, so maybe I'd be making a "Bol Bol will win the NBA MVP" post if their situations were reversed.

This isn't as hot a take as people are making it out to be. Will it happen? God knows. But Poku has something special that few 7 footers do -- spontaneous ability to create. There's no star in the league who doesn't have that spontaneous genius. Plenty of non-stars have it, but it's a prerequisite for stardom and its absence is the reason guys with all the physical tools -- say, Harrison Barnes or Andrew Wiggins -- don't become stars.

He moves like a SF. He’s even handling the ball in the PnR like a guard. They should keep him on the perimeter and model him after Durant.

He’s definitely no big man.
