People are really reaching. Now Lebron is liable not just he says but for what he doesn't comment on. I can't think of any other guy who could come close to standing up to this scrutiny.

Is someone keeping a log of all Lebrons public statements? are we mining the data for hypocrisy?can we utilize Palantir for best results??

What did y’all do when LeBron was injured? Make up other things to be upset about?

Your complaint was that LeBron didn't speak against this idea before it personally affected him. Now that you've been proven wrong you're stooping to a pathetic rationalization.

Eh, he may have been against it before, he just never said anything to a reporter about it.

You can't draw conclusions about what the man thinks based on what you assume he DIDN'T say. But hey, hating is fun, right?

Sorry, a competitive player complaining about something that negatively affects him competitively out of frustration just doesn't seem headline or scorn worthy to me.
I'm not hating on him... He is however hating on the play in and the fact that he's vocal and hating on it now with the Lakers slipping is interesting timing. Fact is he probably wouldn't care much if his team had the 1st or 2nd seed locked up but again, that's not me "hating". Just stating the obvious facts.

Well said. What the NBA lacks is the sense of unpredictability when a favorite faces a low-seeded team. This play-in thing brings that into the mix and that's awesome.

LeBron is correct.
Play-in is stupid considering there's a ton of games in a season.
The 72 games this year should be the play-in.

It's a stupid excuse by the league and the owners to cash in.

How does the play-in affect the sense of predictability in matches between the #1/#2 and the #8/#7?

I really don’t understand how some people can blame a business for “chasing in.” The point of the NBA is to make money. It exists as a business to make money for the owners and the players. The play in tournament should get fantastic ratings and it makes the end of the regular season get more ratings.

The NBA will, and should, look for every available opportunity to cash in.

The criticism is because your idol has a history of expressing his disapproval when circumstances negatively affect him and his causes otherwise he elects to keep quiet when things are in his favor.

It doesn't, but when a favorite was struggling with injuries during the season and fell down into the play-in zone, things get interesting.

Who cares who said it it’s true. Call a spade a spade play in tournaments are stupid. It’s a world class sport. No point having seedings then and RS games value greatly diminishes more than it already is.

Top 8 is top 8 leave it as is. Ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Then the argument then becomes well if you lose as the 8th seed you shouldn’t been there in the first place. Okay then why compromise a team being in the 8th seed instead of rewarding them. So 72 games you’re telling me we have to play more games before the playoffs because teams below weren’t good the entire year? Haha F that noise.

The logic that op made makes no sense. Just because you didnt say anything regarding said topic and then later say you don't agree with it, doesn't mean that you agreed with it before.

Not even close to my idol.

So Lebron James is acting like a normal human being. OMG, thanks for pointing that out. People tend to comment on things negatively affecting them in real-time. If someone is affected by SALT deduction they may comment on it..if someone is affected by student loan legislation they are more likely to comment on it.

Lebron isn't some elected official or moral compass. He is just a basketball player who comments whenever he feels the need to, and that all you should expect from him.

The play in is stupid. The amount of games in the regular season is stupid. All of this;

Resting players
Player injuries
Meaningless games
End of season

Can all be fixed by making the season 60 games, or even less(45 games even).

For more unpredictability in the early rounds?

1st round-Best of 3.

2nd round-best of 5

Conference and NBA finals best of 7.

Every single game would have meaning, and because players would be much better rested, you would get peak performances everytime.

That was a remark specific to the situation a year ago- when the season was unexpectedly cut short.

Did you not bother to check that or do you not think that distinction matters? Because it's pretty clear it does.

Do you really need it explained to you how these aren't the same or are you just being a funny little troll?
