you can't go wrong either way... but Giannis has a big edge on defense, he is a freak on both ends...

Both are proven MVP quality players who can carry your team to at least 50 wins. Both have proven the ability to have big games in the playoffs. But Giannis has shown a level of leadership that I don't think I've seen from Jokic.

Giannis might be the best leader in the NBA. Even more so than Lebron.

Nothing to be ashamed of for picking the guy who won the MVP a month ago. Some people have short memories, some people don't.

Why not simplify and pick the better player if their ages are similar? Giannis showed he’s the best or second best player on the planet. Jokic showed who he was against the Suns.

You could easily build a contender around either one. I think Giannis is the better player though.

See, my issue is the concept of propping up another player whilst putting another down in the process. It doesn’t have to be like that. Comes off as petty, more than anything.

Give Jokic a team with Middleton and Jrue and give Giannis a team with Rivers, MPJ and Facu. Which team is more successful? If anything, a team like Milwaukee would be perfect for Jokic as there are enough great defenders to mask his issues there. Denver has spotty shooting and Giannis would need to play like in game 6 every night.

It’s easy to look back at the decimated Denver team and point and laugh at Jokic while the Bucks were quite healthy all year. It’s easy, but it isn’t necessarily fair.

Giannis is a Beast and is much better defensively.

Really embarrassing that this is even a question. No chance jokic does what Giannis just did.

Everyone building around a guy who hasn’t won as the best player on the best team is over thinking it… Giannis is the best player in the league and he isn’t even in his prime - dude 26-

Bucks lose Middleton to an ACL tear and no way is this questioned being asked. Context is critically important.

I don’t think it would have mattered. Giannis was on a mission this year and wasn’t going to let his team lose no matter what happened.

I mean...Giannis was dead meat against KD+Kyrie, and then was saved from a series loss by KD wearing one shoe-size too large.

He absolutely stepped up against a team that did not have the personnel to slow him down, but let's not make him out to be Jordan quite yet.

As for the question...timing. A month ago, Joker was the obvious answer. Tonight it's clearly Giannis. I suspect the pendulum will swing again before all is said and done.

Not at all.. it was Giannis then and moreso Gannis now. Jokic proponents were by far the loudest (I'll give you that) but had the weakest arguments tbqh.

Rarely do I disagree with your post but first part of your post ain't true. Joker has been one of the most popular players on this site over the last couple of years. His all around offense, a skillset rarely seen on big men brought life to the post pandemic, injury plagued NBA. I am a huge fan of his game.

As to the poll, I couldn't care less on any Giannis related hot take threads tonight. Let the people have fun, get drunk, get high, whatever they want, tomorrow is a new day.

If tomorrow is too son, next week, next month. Remember Butler = Jesus last year this time? People will come back to reality sooner or later.

Comparing Butler to Giannis in any sense is pretty clownish. Butler didn’t do last year what Giannis just did.

Slightly Giannis because Jokic only played at a extreme high level this season. If he can replicate this success moving forward, then will be up for debate.

I'd rather have Denvers supporting cast though over the Bucks. A healthy playoff Murray makes Denver > Milwaukee.

You do not put words in my mouth.

Nobody is comparing Butler to Giannis, and no one in their sane mind will think Butler is as good as Giannis.

It's only an illustration of how people react on this board that's all.

Jokic is great. But would you build around him in preference to Giannis?
