CJ + one or two protected 1st-round picks for Siakam, who it sounds like is gettable.
Are you a Raptors fan? I'd have to imagine that every Blazers fan would agree on that deal, but I have a hard time seeing the Raptors sign off on that.
Honestly it may be a bit of an overpay by Portland. It really depends on if/how broken the relationship is with TOR & Siakam. Statistically CJ was the superior player last year (RPM, Raptor, you name it...), and it's not particularly close. Size & Age are what Siakam has on CJ.. I am not sure that gap is 2 firsts...
Honestly, I just think the CJ in TOR fit is bad... It would make more sense in a 3-way deal with CJ going elsewhere.
Yeah, CJ is not a fit in TOR; I was suggesting it more as an asset play, since I have to imagine TOR recognizes that they probably aren't competing for much of anything this year. The idea would be to trade Siakam for CJ and net some draft assets, then find a taker for CJ to net more assets (picks and/or youth). Could be a 3-teamer from the outset, or maybe TOR waits till the deadline when some team feels like they're one CJ McCollum away from whatever their goal is.
(And for the record, I'm a neutral fan here (Warriors), so I may be off on the trade balance. Point is more just that (1) Siakam seems available, (2) swapping CJ for Siakam would unquestionably improve the Blazers on the court, and (3) the Blazers seem to have the raw ammo to get a deal done if they really wanted, since they have all their picks and the delta between CJ and Siakam is not enormous.)
