A day, a date, it’s the same thing.

I agree. They have every right to do what they did, but it's still crummy. I think the fan did know what he had, but he no doubt felt extremely pressured. Sometimes it's tough to accurately predict what you would have done in a situation, but I can't see myself doing anything other than wrapping both arms around the ball and not letting go until I'm in my car or back at home. I wouldn't go to the bathroom; I wouldn't take one arm off the ball to to take a drink of water.

There would really be no way to prove it's the 600th td ball. Another ball, as long as it was a game ball, and a signed jersey by Brady after he threw is 600th td ball, especially if he refers to it next to sig might be worth a bit too.

That wouldn't have been much of an obstacle. I'm sure an authentication company would have no trouble verifying the authenticity. As for the signed jersey and the other game ball, he'll be extremely lucky to get $5k for it.

I mean Brady could have tossed the guy $3-5 grand to make it more appealing.

Brady is worth an estimated $270 million and he will likely have more opportunities to make money when he does retire, tossing the guy 5 grand is nothing to him.

Imagine trying to walk out of the stadium with that ball. Dude should have just started running for the exits as soon as he got it.

Maybe Brady will give him something else...unless the team was keeping it for the HoF.

I’m sure the Bucs knew the possibility of Brady’s 600th TD and had it in their mind to collect that ball. I’m not sure how these things work but is the player allowed to give a ball to a fan in the midst of a game? If not, then he unknowingly put the fan in an awkward spot as the fan should not have had it in the first place. So, I understand the Bucs decision but I feel for the fan, who should have never been put in that position. But to be honest, it isn’t truly that serious, the fan seems fine.

Nope, no way to prove it. Other than a live national broadcast watched by tens of millions of people. But besides that, no way whatsoever.

You can get this stuff verified, I think the guy that caught the record securing homerun ball that was the record for Barry Bonds in 2001 had it verified. Though I think Barry Bonds eventually got it back after some sort of negotiation, the ball was estimated to be worth a ton when it was hit back in 2001.

He also can show the tickets to the game and show where he was seated, then if you watch the replay on the home run you can see he caught it.

That other ball will be worth more money than some people think.

"The ball that some guy exchanged for Brady's 600th TD ball."

Some rich guy might put it in his toilet to keep a reminder of how stupid people can be.
