I watch all of the Hawks games and I have to put half of the blame on Trae. He has some Westbrook in him, where he takes some ridiculous shots and goes into modes were he is determined to score, no matter what the defense is or the flow of the game. Him being that way throws off the timing for his teammates, which results in more bricks or turnovers. He really needs to be a more balanced player offensively and up his basketball IQ . His elite court vision bails him out of the unfavorable situations he puts himself in to, so he's not learning from his bad habits as much as he should .

The other part of the blame goes on McMillan. Our team isn't organized offense wise and we are no where near our defensive potential. Way too early to panic but we don't look like the Hawks of the playoffs at all right now.

A demonstration that last year was an overachieve, and that when your identified Number 1 player is an inneficient turnover machine winning games becomes difficult.

I agree this is a small sample size, but I also think the Hawks just had a good run last year and this is the regression to the mean playing out. They are going to play better as the season goes on, but I don't think we'll see a repeat of last year's playoff success.

KAT at PF would be turrible.

I would trade Huerter/Collins/Capella + picks for KAT/McDaniels/Vanderbilt/Okogie

Trae/Wright
Bogi/Reddish/Okogie
Hunter/Reddish
Vanderbilt/Gallo
KAT/Dieng/OO

Wolves get starting level players, Hawks get a superstar.

I've expected more from the Hawks this season, but you can't discount the strength of their schedule being a factor.

If there's one thing you can point to at this point of the season though it's their defense.

Atlanta managed to claw back from their miserable start by getting on top of it defensively and right now they're just not getting it done.

Lloyd Pierce lost his job due to personnel injuries...

They were ECF pretenders last year though so... they seem like a team that can start 4-8, meaning they seem like a streaky team anyway.

Meh. I'd give the Capela/KAT front court a shot. Especially with KAT being one of the best shooting bigs, they wouldn't muddy up spacing I don't think. Plus without Capela, Trae and KAT will be exposed far easier due to their lack of defense.

They have already faced the Nets, Jazz, Suns, Warriors, Sixers.

Schedule has been hellish, the worse has passed once they get Mil and Den out of the way. Otherwise, it's a little bit of everything. Guys got paid and playing selfish ball/lazy ball. Back up big and point has deteriorated from last season when it was already questionable.

Injury to Onyeka hurts more than most realized. Too many guys need minutes and it's screwing up chemistry for both units. Started out slower last season with shortened season, not too worried with the flexibility to get better via trade.

Nothing. As me and many others said last year's hawks were a fluke. That said they will improve and be playoff team. Barely but still a playoff team.

Capela sucking is one of the major reason why Atlanta is struggling. Also, players like Cam are not that good and yet he's propped up as a defensive stud and gets major minutes. Straighten out Capela and trade for veteran role players by trading their younger assets like Cam. Boom they should be back in business.

trae been exposed is only half the answer. the other half is their terrible acquisitions from collins to gallinari. thats 50 mil deadweight right there. huerter is your 3rd option extend him asap 5/100 and they need a cp3 type vet all star caliber.
a ben simmons acquisiton would make them title contenders.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

I still think the Hawks are good team and Trae is good. At some point they will go on a winning streak.

But folks need to stop acting like Trae is the next Steph Curry because he is not. It's the same with Dame. Steph is one of a kind. STOP the comparisons.

They are better than their record but, doubt they make another ECF run anytime soon.

Things are taking a turn for the better. In his five games for November, all losses, Trae is averaging:
25.4/4.4/9.0 with a TS% of .546.

His TS% for Octobers 6 games was .514. He will be fine by December. Then the haters will be left with bashing his hair...

The crazy part is that he was shooting like russ, took a leap, and is still well below league average  . statisticaians that have nothing to do with sports are going to write books about this guy if the lakers win a title with him

What if his numbers are still down by December? We know what the "haters" will say but what will his supporters say?

"j-just wait till March! haterz!" ?
