And a fairly significant statistical peak prior to that.

He’s overrated by some NBA players but if you say he’s not a top 10 pg that’s taking the backlash too far IMO.

And in the same breath he said Iverson was "more of a two." Yet Kyrie is a 1?

Main guy? Nope. Those were by committee. Similar to 04 Pistons.

I disagree. He's probably anywhere from 8-12 for me without putting too much thought into it but I think Kyrie is sooo skilled and gifted that by just watching him I can see why someone will come away saying that. His statistics and accolades don't really compare to some of the top PGs to play the game, even at his peak. His best season was last year in Brooklyn and it didn't even earn him a First Team All NBA. He's never been in MVP discussions really either. But man, sometimes I watch Kyrie and feel the same way Iggy does. He's great and one of the most talented and exciting players to ever play hands down and is a first ballot HOF player

Let's see here..

Magic, Oscar, Curry, Paul, Nash, Kidd, Stockton, and Frazier are easily above him. That's 8.

If you have West and Harden as PGs, they are obviously also better.

Isiah is more in the Gary Payton tier.

Five years ago everyone would've say Westbrook over Kyrie but today, most would take Kyrie (the basketball player not the person) in an instant, in spite of Westbrook's triple doubles.

It's Magic, CP3, Steph, Oscar (was he a point or shooting guard?), Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Isiah, and Russell in some order.

Kyrie is a better shooter than all but Steph and Nash. He has the best handle and can get to his spot the best of the entire group. He has a ring and hit the game winning shot to do it. He has 7 All Stars and 3 All NBA teams. That's honestly where he's lacking the most: the All NBA teams and All Stars, because he's been injured so much. Again, I don't see top 4, but it's closer than people want to acknowledge.

Well for one thing Kyrie has no argument over Damian Lillard. Dame is the better regular season player and has much more longevity so far. Sure Kyrie has better playoff numbers as a 2nd or 3rd fiddle but he never did well as the 1st option or as the "man".
. He was a perennial loser on the Cavs(to be fair he was young) but he didn't do better on the Celtics where he was awful in the playoffs and didn't do better than the Celtics when they had isaiah thomas. On the other hand Lillard never had other superstars. How would he do with a prime Lebron or Durant taking the heat off him?

Kyrie is not even top 10. Thats disrespectful to PGs of the past. I would not put him above Payton and Walt Frazier either. There are also a ton of other PGS like Archibald, Cousey that I admit I did not watch since it was before my time but they are still greats to be respected and guys I would easily put over kyrie. Top 15 would even be generous here with Kyrie's current resume.

i dont think you can have harden and west as pgs on that list, they havent played enough of it to be there. is there anyone else you have above zeke? He kinda seems like a bit above payton because he was better offensively, but im not sure where he is compared to nash kidd and stockton because the individual/team accolades and longevity of the others makes it tough. Is there a bigger gap between payton and thomas, or thomas and say stockton,, who i think is the worst of the people you put above him.

By pumping up Kyrie's supposed value as a player, Iguodala (intentionally?) also pump up his, as the teams he was part of defeated, many times in the Finals, teams Kyrie was part of.

Touché.

Holy ****, what a dumb take. He'll listen to an argument for Chris Paul? No mention of Steve Nash or John Stockton at all?

I have West as a 1 but Harden can be debated. I'd consider Isiah after all the guys I listed but even then he wouldn't be the surefire next pick.

Accolades are not a part of my evaluation criteria so if you put stock into those things, we're not going to agree.

Stockton's peak may be the worst of the group (not worse than Payton or Isiah) but career value he's easily top 30 all time.

False. He was the best player indisputably on a team that went back to back.

Top 4 Iso scoring PG? Probably so. Handles, defiinitly. Virtually any other form of measurement. Not even in the ball park.

Lillard is an odd choice. Kyrie is a pretty much a legit 50/40/90 guy. He's a better shooter, handler, and Lebron or not, has a ring. Kyrie deserves that top 75 spot over a Lillard 100 out of 100 times. For all of Lillard's skills, he hasn't done it as 'the man' either. Until he does, that argument hurts your comparison, doesn't help it.

You could try to list 10 point guards better than Kyrie, but again, right around 7 (at least imo) you start to falter and the arguments are flimsy. For instance, Kidd is my favorite player all time, but a person could easily make an argument that Kyrie is a better overall player. They'd be wrong, but they could make the argument.

Not really. Dumars won FMVP in 89 and Isiah was awful until the finals in 90, beating a decent but not great Blazers team.
