That is such a dumb take. Steph has the handles and ball control that Allen didn't have.

Steph probably does have an advantage over him in that aspect, doesn't change my opion one iota however.

You thought Russell Westbrook was better than him as well.
I do think Russ is a better overall basketball player as well.... I certainly do not think Russ could have done what Steph did in GS, that was the perfect system with the perfect coach in teh perfect moment in time and Steph was phenominal in it andtailor made for it.
I feel if coach Kerr had looked at his roster and found a 24 y/o Ray Allen on their it would have gone totally fine.
I really like the 2016 Warriors and do have a lot of respect for Steph, people are going to mistake my statement as a knock on Curry but it really wasn't meant to be.

What an awful take.
It sort of depends on whether when you look at Ray you see him in a Celtics/Heat jersey or a Bucks/Sonics jersey.... Kobe was always a step ahead of Ray because Kobe put in tons of work and became a serious defensive weapon.... Curry doens't have that edge over Ray by any stretch at all.

By the time he's done it's going to look like Stockton's assist lead over Kidd.

Just to put Stockton's lead in perspective:
- He has 18% more steals than the 2nd place (Jason Kidd)
- He has 24% more assists than the 2nd place (same)
... if my math is correct, obviously.
Nevertheless, just imagine for a second: Stockton has 3,800 more assists than the 2nd place all-time.
Like, if Jason Kidd was still playing nowadays, he would need roughly 5 seasons averaging 10 assists, without injuries, to pass Stockton.
Also worth noting, LeBron is almost top 10 all-time in 3 pt mades... 4 more and he reaches 2,000.
Stockton is totally underrated on this Forum.

He's never ranked in the top 20.

Moses Malone's lead in career offensive rebounds is even larger.
Moses has 53.28% more offensive rebounds than 2nd place ABA/NBA combined (Artis Gilmore)
Moses has 46.39% more offensive rebounds than 2nd place NBA only (Robert Parish)
BTW, the difference in total offensive rebounds between Moses and Artis Gilmore is bigger than the difference between Artis Gilmore and number 73 on the career list (Vin Baker).
The caveat is that this doesn't include Wilt or Russell, since offensive rebound stats weren't kept before 1973-74 for the NBA and 1967-68 for the ABA.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

I don’t doubt at all that I’ll see more players shoot at this level again in my life. Basketball players have only gotten better and better and unless there’s suddenly a huge decrease in popularity in the sport, they will keep getting better and better. I agree that Curry is in a tier on his own at shooting and I don’t know if anyone currently playing will reach that tier, but I don’t doubt at all there will be more players reaching that tier in the future.

I really don’t think we are gonna see a shooter like Steph anytime soon. There’s a lot of guys who can shoot with range and the league in general being a high 3 point shooting league but there’s only one Steph Curry.

Re: Stephen Curry passed Ray Allen for most 3-pointers made in history (playoffs included)
I know Ray retired at 38, but I'm kinda surprised he still had the record given the era he started in. Looking at it he averaged 8 3pt attempts twice, Curry has averaged over 10 5 times! No doubt he's a better player regardless.
