I remember all this noise about Giannis improved jumper in the preseason but his jumper looks worse than ever. They really rely on Middleton to make things happen in the fourth.

Even with the injuries I expect regular season Greek Freak to bring any NBA chumps to at least a couple games over .500.

Pretty surprising result, injuries yes but also even with the injuries taken into account they're performing poorly.

But yeah watch the last 3 years to see what the regular season Bucks do. They'll do it again as long as Giannis is around.

Everybody had an injury to their core players, including the Bucks, who saw their main guy's knee bent backwards at the worst possible time.

The only difference is that our guy came back from a horrible injury because he's a freak, the other guys didn't come back because they're not freaks.

And that's why the Bucks are champions, not because they didn't have injuries.

Rule #1: Whenever a team is struggling, check their injury report before you criticize them.

Then don’t criticize the Nets or Durant.

Screw that small, three year sample size. A few bad weeks at the beginning of the season really shows us who they are.

they've also missed Middleton for most of this season. What a terrible take.

Haven't seen them this year, but can't imagine they aren't contenders. They lost what PJ and that's about it? Should be dangerous come playoffs.

The 2020 Lakers didn't play a team missing their star to injury until maybe Bam for two games in the finals. How was it lucky? I don't consider the Bucks title lucky either. Now if the Suns won due to Giannis not playing, I'd 100% consider it lucky. That'd be an unprecedented run where all 4 teams would have a star missing.
Bam and Dragić, so that's two starters.

After Giannis here are the next 4 guys in terms of total minutes played this year for the bucks.

Grayson Allen
Pat Connaughton
George Hill
Jordan Nwora

George Hill btw is 35 now...

Injuries are obviously a factor but that's still masking that Bucks have been really poor regardless. Giannis has still been playing and he's an MVP caliber player.

Lets see they have had their starting 5 for all of 1 game so far this season. They beat the Nets by 23 and Jrue got hurt half way through that game.

Lets look at where the 2-4 best players on the team rank in minutes played so far
Middleton: 9th on the team
Jrue: 7th on the team
Lopez: 15th on the team

When your 60% of your starting lineup has missed as much time as they have, its not too surprising they're floating around .500.

Ill just put it this way. These were the 4 bench players that saw 10+ minutes in tonight's game
Semi (22)
Nwora (22)
Hood (17)
Robinson (10)

When healthy these will be the 4 top guys coming off the bench
Portis
Connaughton
Donte
Hill

That is quite the significant difference. Again not only is the starting lineup taking a big hit with all the injuries, because of that the bench has taken a big hit as well. Lets wait to see how this team looks once the team gets a few games together when they're all healthy.

Everyone knows the Nets situation or should at least. Nets are clear #1 when everyone is back and healthy.

No. Quite frankly with all the injuries they've had whether it's Holiday and Lopez missing time along with Donte or Middleton having to enter health&safety protocol it's a miracle the Bucks are in games. They'll weather the storm and they'll be all right.

I will admit that it was a bit disappointing that they didn't keep P.J. Tucker given they had his full bird rights and they could've convinced him to take a lesser deal with a smaller cap hit spread out over 3 years at say 17-20M but I understand the main reason being was that his added salary would've skyrocketed their tax bill. He would've been ideal for soaking up minutes in the regular season but oh well.

For now it's a good time to experiment with the younger guys and seeing what they have in them as they'll need them to step up in the future years as Lopez will be 35 when his contract is up and Hill is 35 currently and not getting any younger.

The Bucks still legit?

Post#37 » by WestGOAT » Mon Nov 15, 2021 7:00 am

How are they 6-8?

We saw what happened to championship teams that thought they could flip the switch during the playoffs, it just doesn't work that way.
