From a competitive standpoint, Denver is one of my least favorite teams, but man I'm hoping they can get healthy. I hate that injuries are part of sports and I'm gonna be rooting hard for Murray and MPJ (and now Dozier) to come back healthy. Jokic is so fun to watch when he's not playing against your team.

This is why I want the Bulls to trade PWill and CWhte to get Barnes or Grant. We would have a puncher's chance, with no clear cut top team

I hope the Nuggets are looking hard at their medical and training staff. While they have a history of signing injury prone players and pretending that injury prone doesn't exist, these guys are start to accumulate some major injuries and it makes you wonder who is in charge of these guys staying healthy.
I hope they take the load off of Jokic, I can see us making the playoffs juts off him alone, but I would prefer we save those miles on him.

They were playing better without Porter, if Jokic didn't get hurt they would still be third or fourth team in the Western Conference . I don't think they should tank, unless Jokic misses a month of action. If Murray comes back healthy in the second part of the season, they can still make some noise, its important for them to compete in the play off's.

Season is over now. Might as well shut Jokic down until he is absolutely healthy. This should be a year to try out other guys and give them minutes to see what you have. It's just a wash sadly.

If I’m the Nuggets, I blow it up and trade Jokic, Murray and MPJ and see what I can get. This team is not a championship level team even when fully healthy. Jokic is the only one of the three that has a good contract and doesn’t have injury risk. If I’m someone like the Rockets, I’d offer KPJ and Green with some future first round picks.

Jokic is a free agent in 2023. It's possible he could be in play as early as this trade deadline if he were to quietly ask out. Not saying I'd bet on that to happen but in theory it could.

Man what a horrible dumb take. Yeah let's blow up our core of guys 26 and younger because injuries occured. And you know for sure that, that group can't get it done ???
Non-sense...
Trade Jokic for KPJ and Green lol lol wtf is wrong with you guys??

I always see people say this but these guys have personal legacies too. Jokic is one of a handful of players in the running for best player in the league and is on pace to join the greatest C of all time in terms of production (who knows about winning). What kind of player who's only had 1 MVP level season decides to take off the following season while theyre still young (26) and putting up historic numbers even better than their MVP season?
More importantly, if Murray comes back, the West is no longer some crazy conference. They should like their chances against the Suns and Warriors

Nuggets arent throwing away the season just to get a slightly better draft pick. There is no way they are shutting down Jokic in his prime and having him stay with the team. Tanking is not what Jokic wants, its not what Malone wants and its probably not what the owners want.

Why would they trade top 10 player in the league, who just hit his prime

Re: The Denver Nuggets...
There are so many terrible takes in this thread that I don’t know where to respond first.
But trading an mvp in his mid 20s because of a five game losing streak takes the cake.
Acting like Denver is 1-15. They are like 3 games out of first place with 60+ games left. Acting like Jokic suffers a torn ACL every season and needs to be shut down. He played every game last year and has a run of the mill wrist injury.
Like literally. If the season ended today denver is in the playoffs.
I wonder how some posters act in real life when faced with the least bit of adversity.

Jokic can actually carry this team, through the regular season at least. He did last year. He did this year before he got hurt. They're a 50 win team with him on the court. He will be back, and his pride won't allow him to be shut down. Denver will still probably make the playoffs barring an extended absence for Joker. After the Warriors, Suns and perhaps Jazz, a Jokic led Nuggets team is as good as any other in the West. They were 9-4 without Murray and with Porter playing terrible basketball. Jokic was MVP for a reason. He's that good.
With Joker they're still an easy playoff team, but I don't see them rushing back Murray unless they just happen to go on an insane winning streak. More likely, they'll work towards 2022-2023 with him. But they aren't going to tank and be one of the five worst teams in the league LOL. They're only a few games out of first place and the MVP is coming back.
I can admit, I wrote off the season at first too. But after the dust settled, they're still Joker's team and he's the best player in the NBA. They're not as good as they are with Porter and Murray, but they're still a top 5 or 6 team in the West.
Thats all true, but I hope Jokic doesnt get injured carying them to POs...
He has a wrist injury, not a torn ACL. He's always been extremely durable.
I mean, the guy is a competitor and wants to play and win. What is he and the Nuggets front office going to do? Shut him down for no reason? Coming off an MVP and smack dab in the middle of his prime? The Nuggets already can't attract free agents. Pissing off your best player of all time for a few more ping pong balls would not be wise.
Everything you say is correct but the Nuggets with the roster they have after all the injuries need Jokic to play heavy minutes to win games. That is never a good thing to do. At some point his body will break down while trying to compete for the 6th spot.

Re: The Denver Nuggets...
It's a long season. Just ride it out and try to keep head above water to get clicking at the right time. That's most important. Teams without their best players struggle.
Not much you can do about MPJ for now but at least knowing he'll be out gives the team a more focused way of operating - either make a trade to shore up the position or another guy steps up.
Murray is going to return this season as well, yes?
Jokic took the summer off to rest so he'll be fine.
Still have Gordon.
Just need to beef up the bench, so if there's anything constructive coming from these games it's that.

This year is probably a write-off Murray should be ok for next year. MPJ injury could be a disaster though, sucks for them.

Don't worry. We heard the same bs in Milwaukee about how they couldn't get it done.... Blow it up now and get value... blah blah blah. And that was DURING the playoffs last year.
Just keep the grind and hopefully you can bust through.

That's it. It's easy to say that a team is still so young and has a lot of time. That's what people said about OKC with young KD, Westbrook and Harden. And that team never won the title.
I agree with Lowe. The Nuggets were my favorite to win the title last year. Than Murray got hurt. That injury sucks so much.
OKC is more on management, screwed it up by being cheap towards Harden. If he stays they probably win at least one.
