And by doing that you're taking the ball out of the hands of the best decision maker in NBA history. Russ is one of the worst off ball players in the league. I couldn't imagine a worse player to pair with Lebron than Russ.

Yep. Its a bad fit, not because Russ is a bad player, but because he and LeBron play the same position and same play style, you cant really play them together.

He's bad when James isn't playing though

He erased the lead by 10 points at the end of 3 with the bench unit and Davis further on with the bench on the 4th. James subs back in and lead soon balloons with lebrons poor defensive efforts. Nice spin by you though.

Westbrook took okc and wash with Beal to the playoffs.

I hope they just sit Westbrook. Hate that only he is the scapegoat
The lakers will struggle even when he doesn’t play.
Lebron and AD have declined

Exactly. Westbrook sits out and the blame is still on him when they lose and James being passive aggressive and not playing any defense all night long, yet the loss is every time on Westbrook.

WB is far worse on defense than LeBron though
LeBron can actually be decent when he wants to, Russ is just clueless 100% of the time

With all those arrogant post game interviews in the past, media is having a field day with him now. He's not helping himself either with constantly having dumb answers.

Would/could. Doesn't matter. He didn't and doesn't. He left his man wide open on 3 like 5-6 times and they made like 4 of those shots. He also was bullied by Giannis several times on switches and transition.

Dude...

"I shouldn’t have to hit any benchmarks, to be honest. I put a lot of work in. I got a lot of respect in this game. I earned the right to be in closing lineups. Numbers would say, I don't have to explain that."

I know you ride hard for your boy Russ but come on. It is what it is
He's basically become a parody of himself.

Before giving that quote, to answer the question directly, Russ first said "I dont got that answer for you, I wish I did".

That changes that answer to me a bit. Not that much, since he still said what he said, but it adds some context around the frustration as well.

Media be spinning everywhere. Yeesh.

I feel a lil bad for Russ. To go from revered and walking triple-double to the butt of all jokes in the NBA has to be hard on the ego and players like Russ have MASSIVE egos.

I know fans have zero imput on what a team does, but this past off-season, about 95% of all NBA fans warned the Lakers what would happen if they got WB, AND about 90% of all NBA fans warned Brooklyn what would happen with Krie on the team. So far...

WB's bad play has taken away from some of the poor play from lebron (defense) and AD (overall consistency), but lol, there is just no defense of Westbrook. He has been legitimately bad as opposed to Lebron being bad by Lebron standards.

WB seems like the type of player that based on stats, and his ridiculous salary still thinks he is a top 10 player in this league.

It's pretty obvious he is living in a **** dreamland.

He's like a baseball player that never walks. He's got a .315 OBP but then says to the media, "change my plate approach? Are you kidding? *Laughs* I'm hitting .295... I'm almost above .300, what do you want me to do?" Just a total dinosaur mentality with no understanding of modern interpretation of the game.
