Why did James Harden want to leave the Nets?

I think it just comes down to Kyrie being an unprofessional teammate. Harden's the one member of that big 3 that doesn't have a ring yet so he did not like seeing that lack of urgency from Kyrie, and KD could break down at any time. At least Embiid is going to be hungry in the playoffs.

Money & power. Tsai & Marks were uneasy about giving him 5 years this summer. He also didn't have the organizational say that he would have with Morey. KD has all of the player influence with Marks.

He's an opportunist.

That's the way it is in the NBA in 2022. If you have enough clout, you use it to force yourself into a better situation. If it doesn't work out there, simply do it again.

Because he didn't want to be part of a big 2.5. Kyrie is a **** lunatic moron, and you can't rely on him. He knew it was either him or Kyrie, and Kyrie wasn't going anywhere for some reason.

Harden opting in sounds like he never wanted to be a Net.. and when things started to breakdown.. He prob reached out to Morey

some teams look good on paper initially but in reality they just don't work out.....ex - Nets and Lakers

that's why I'm not fully buying into the Embiid-Harden Sixers...who knows if those 2 will work out chemistry-wise

He already hinted at it. Irving. Kyrie Irving is not a team player. They need him to win and he cant get on board because he's stubborn. I would have been furious and way more vocal.
