That doesn't explain some Heat fans hating him too, like me.
The reason is simple.
Lebron is the most unlikeable superstar in sports history. He's incredibly fake, manufactured, and selfish. Lebron only cares about Lebron and will use anyone to try and prop himself up.
Even Kobe, with his huge ego, never came out and said "That right there makes me the greatest ever" like Lebron did about the 2016 finals.
Lebron is a never ending factory of cringe.
"Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7...."
I can go on and on.
Yeah he's incredibly Narcissistic and knew he was leaving way before informing any members of the Heat organization.. but man is a top 2-3 player ever. His jersey will be going up in the Heat rafters since Riley, Wade etc still rave about him.
Riley does not 'rave' about him. Riley was very disappointed in lebron for QUITTING and running to another superteam to improve his chances of winning once Wade's knees were shot.
Riley is a class act and it's not a good look for Riley to bad mouth lebron, you know how it is for player relations.
And yes Lebron's jersey will go in the rafters.
But don't get it twisted. We had to bend over backwards to teach this guy how to win. Lebron has no idea how to play off-ball, which is why the 2011 Heat failed and lebron played so miserably and got shut down by JJ Barea and Jason Kidd.
Maybe if he wasn't so selfish and a bit more humble, I would support him. But oh man, he's a mercenary like we never seen before. And he's VERY deceptive and manipulative. Going back to Cleveland in 2014 was never about "Im going home" with his music PR campaign. It was all about forming another superteam because the Heat superteam was washed (Wade's knees). And as soon as Kyrie Irving asked to be traded, and the I. Thomas trade ruined their superteam, Lebron said peace out "HOME" and went to LA, and lied to those youngins because he knew damn well he wanted to trade their assets for Anthony Davis and recruit Kawhi Leonard. Don't forget, the plan in LA was Lebron-AD-Kawhi but Kawhi clowned Lebron and joined the Clippers instead.
And you ask me why I don't like such a player?
"As for me personally, I don't truly care how much I make these days, my main focus is on playing for a winner." - Dirk Nowitzki, July 2016
