I don't mind Monty winning despite not maybe having the best case given that he's been deserving in back to back years.

Sounds like all the makings of a makeup year. Thought Monty should have got it last season

That said Jenkins should be the guy. He’s turned water into wine with that roster

Yup, Jenkins all the way!
I find it pretty amazing that Ime Udoka is even on this list (and I think he's more than deserving of being here). There was a bunch of polls here on the GM that asked who was the worst coach in the league (a little before Christmas I think), and Udoka acutally was voted as the worst coach in the NBA (and again, at the time it too was pretty deserving). What he has done with that Celtic's team in the last 3 months or so is simply amazing. He stayed true to what he was preaching all year, and when it finally sank home with the players (especially the Jays), they went from being a lower mid-level team to one of the very best teams in the league. He transformed their defense into a amazing player-switching juggaernaut. as well as being a top offensive team in the league. (again during that period of time).
To be honest, I really can't wait to see how he does next year. If he has mostly the same team to work with, will they be able to play a that high all year?

Eric Spolstra but not for the reasons you'd think

For almost kicking Jimmy Butler's ass lol jk

I think Jenkins, Spo and Monty are the only serious candidates. Spo like Jenkins has had key guys in and out of the lineup and still found ways to win. I think Spo is the best coach in the league and should be rewarded for it. Wouldn't be mad if Jenkins or Monty wins it tho

Most preseason rankings had Dallas ahead of Memphis and memphis is now 6.5 games ahead. Dont see the expectations argument

Jenkins is in the lead just because of how the team shattered there expectations. I have Monty and Nurse in my Top 3.

Monty
Jenkins
Udoka
Spo

In that order for me

Finch and Ty Lue also deserve to be mentioned, they were all well above expectations this season.

I mean if we’re talking expectations most people had Toronto back in the lottery.

The criteria for this award shouldn't include... because we didn't award it to him last year. That's completely unfair to the other candidates.

Spo had his Tom Brady moment, except he could choose both Brady and Bledsoe.

He chose Bledsoe.

Monty deserved it last year, he also deserves it this year. They've held a ~10 game lead over the conference for pretty much all of 2022. Multiple 10 game winning streaks and will break the franchise record.

Jenkins has done well but it has to be Monty.

Jenkins by a mile. How he’s been able to post win after win without having his whole team has been beyond impressive.
