it doesn't because that's not his legacy

They were going to give LeBron FMVP when Cleveland was going to lose, so...
I am for sure that Steph deserved at least one of the 3 FMVPs

Depends on who has the Nike contract.
Iguodala -> Nike
Don’t put much stock in these awards because it’s so political these days.

It wouldn't do anything to not win it, he hasn't won it before so what would change?

That's a good point.
To be fair, however, Kobe was dead-set on winning FMVP's (and titles) without Shaq to show he could be "the guy" and not "the sidekick".
Steph isn't a sidekick (well, he was to Durant), obviously. But this is more about, in my mind, what is greater -- the warriors team/culture or Steph as a player?
The Warriors culture is a serious thing. The system, the machine. Of course, much of that machine has to do with Steph, but the machine runs well sometimes even when he's not around.
Personally, I hope Steph wins a FMVP if they win a chip. He's a good guy and it'd be good to see him get one.
This isnt an either or to me. Steph is the catalyst of the Warriors culture and system. As great as Klay and Draymond are, Steph is what makes them a championship contender.

It'll just hurt the legacy of the finals mvp. Much like Duncan never winning defensive player of the year doesn't hurt his legacy, it hurts the legacy of the award.

Strength in Numbers.
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player

Kobe has two Finals MVP.
I know, that's what I alluded to in my post.
After Kobe won 0 FMVP in his first three rings, he was dead-set on getting some FMVP's to show it wasn't just Shaq getting the job done. And Kobe did that (FMVP) in 2009 and 2010.
That is, it's a real motivating factor (FMVP) for some players. Kobe seemed to feel that he might be regarded as "Robin" if he did not have some titles as "the man" (FMVP).
Yea I was saying that Steph should be motivated and dead set on getting a Finals MVP as well especially due to being Durants robin and everything on the last two.

Tim Duncan doesn't have a defensive player of the year?!?
Yeah these awards are going down in value in my eyes, probably never should have given as much value as I did. Draymond has only won it once. Regular season only Gobert has 3, it's just nuts.
RACHEL NICHOLS voted for Finals MVP. Like who cares what she and other bad media members think.

Gobert is a weird one where the media actually got it right. And I admit Ben Wallace over Duncan many times wasn't a bad take. But how in the hell did Camby get one over Duncan? Artest? Come on people!!!

Because that award is given out to individuals?
Not to groups of players, such as Duncan + Bowen + Jackson + Parker + Robinson + Ginobili... or Duncan + Kawhi + Parker + Ginobili, etc, etc.

And duncan was individually a vastly better defender. Camby constantly was a guy who'd jump on fakes, get out of possition and just in general was a good defender but nowhere near the level of Duncan. Also, Parker? Really? He was a below average defender.

At least Camby could jump. Duncan just stood by and watched as Kobe and other quick guards battled their way past the Spurs superb perimeter team defense and then skipped past Duncan gleefully on their way to finishing at the rim.
Can't imagine what he'd look like now with the way things are now... for example, on this Utah Jazz team that has Mitchell, Clarkson, Bogdanovic defending the perimeter instead of all those great Spurs team defenders.

Because jumping is bad defense...

At the end of the day, players will be remembered for their body of work.
Praise from fools who vote Westbrook, Anthony Davis, and Lilliard over Dwight for greatest 75 players isn’t worth very much.

Adding another Ring to your Resume, With or Without a FMVP will bolster your legacy/Resume. The Pro of Winning a Ring, vastly outweighs the Con's of Not Winning a FMVP.

Re: If the Warriors win title #4 but Steph has no FMVP's, how does that affect his legacy?
It's hard to imagine a world in which the Warriors win the title this year and Steph doesn't win FMVP.
But I don't think it matters at all. KD and Curry were 1a and 1b during their two finals wins. And even though Curry didn't win the FMVP in 2015 it's no secret he was the best and most impactful player on the Warriors in that series. Iguodala's finals MVP is more of sad tale of how much a dumb runaway media narrative can sway finals MVP voting than a deserved award in my opinion.

We can just retcon the whole thing and give him the four FMVPs, because there’s no Golden State Warriors dynasty without him, not even a title.

How is there not an option for raises his legacy in the poll? The idea that winning a championship hurts his legacy is a dumb take.
