this is why I say it's shortsighted of NBA players to marry petite hotties. Gotta think of your future and marry a volleyball or basketball player or tall track athlete. Give yourself better odds of having a tall kid.

I got a hockey buddy who is 6'6 and huge. His wife played volleyball and basketball and is at least 6'3. I used to tell him before they had kids that I wanted to take out a 10% share of their first born son. Granted, neither of the parents are good athletes, but i was thinking future offensive lineman for sure. But then they only had one kid and it's girl. Crushed my dreams.

But to answer the question, NOT Domantas Sabonis.

is more like a combination of mother and father height, if the mother is taller than average the kid is more likely to be taller than his dad

there are even formulas who give you a decent ballpark estimate assiming good health of nutrition so the kid can reach his max potential height

for example

Add the mother's height to the father's height in either inches or centimeters.
Add 5 inches (13 centimeters) for boys or subtract 5 inches (13 centimeters) for girls.
Divide by 2.

well not necessarily. younger generations tend to be taller on average. my mother is 1.65m, my father is 1.75m and I am 1.91m.

LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

You may be on to something, Cade Cunningham's brother is 6'10", while his father is only 6'0" but the key here is his mom is 5'11" which is taller than 99% of women on the earth.

It’s true. My dad is 6’3 and my mom is 5’2. I ended up barely at 5’10. Also, I’m not in the NBA. And my mom and her side of the family gave me a bum heart valve that had to be replaced. Thanks a lot mom.

Klay’s dad is pretty famous. PLayed for the Lakers and now does commentary for them on TV.

Look at Lebron. Desperate to play ball with his son, but his son is too short and not good enough. Who’s fault is that?

Since height is hereditary it goes without saying that the height of both parents is going to affect the height of the child. That's a given. My "you have to be joking" comment was about you saying that NBA players (or any human, in general) should care about their kid's height so much that it affects who they marry. The goal of a marriage (or any kind of romantic relationship) isn't to produce the perfect offspring. It's to, you know, love each other and spending your life together. Nothing else matters.

Nah bro I need a colossus woman to produce a behemoth son so I can ride him around and eat the quality fruit at the top of the tree
