Re: Post-Mortem: 2021-22 Phoenix Suns
I think this was their year, and they just ran into an all timer in Luka.
I would run it back, but sometimes teams run it back and dont realize it's over. similarly. dallas in 08 did the same thing and needed a trade for kidd and lost in the first round with largely the same core.
Id absolute be worried that the team is still so reliant on a 37 year old and that he continually looks like the best player when you're paying max money to booker.

I think they need a big overhaul. Keep the coach and the GM, but move Ayton, Booker, and Paul.

That one game really decided if they performed as expected or "worse than expected". If they had advanced in the conference finals and lost to the Warriors, it would have still been "as expected" IMO.

I have a question for Suns fans...do you think Bridges has been good enough player in playoffs to justify his 4 yr $90M contract? I don't watch him as often as you guys do but from what I have seen of him in playoffs, I find him underwhelming. Offensively he just seems really easy to stop, can't create own shot and his 3 pt shot also doesn't look consistent

What they do with Ayton will be very interesting.

Why did Ayton only play 17 minutes in a game 7? The answer to that probably defines what happens this offseason for the Suns.

Re: Post-Mortem: 2021-22 Phoenix Suns
I have PHX in a bit of trouble. A big move is needed, I don’t know if Booker as a #1 scoring option is going to work for a ring
Still have a lot of depth and talent but the last bit is always hardest. I think they move on from Ayton, and what they get in return will be pivotal

Not at all. Any team in desperate need of a center is gonna pay him big money. And he’s still very young. Suns letting him go will be a franchise killing mistake.

Embarrassing loss. Chris paul says he plans to play next year but duh, have you seen that contract?
What to do with Ayton? Don’t you have to kind of pay him with taking him first overall over Luka and Trae?
Booker is going to have to practice being doubled lol

Completely exposed. Fool's gold team. You need a superstar to contend in the NBA and the Suns don't have one.

Just weird from a player that likes to think he modeled his game after Kobe, you would think he should have no problem with double teams.

Re: Post-Mortem: 2021-22 Phoenix Suns
They need to sign Ayton. I think I rate Ayton pretty high compared to most around here. The guy is only 23 and big men usually take a big longer to mature. I also think the Suns didn't feature him enough in their offense. We saw what he could do when Booker went down and they went to a more traditional pick and roll offense with CP3 and Ayton.
Suns really screwed up drafting Jalen Smith over Haliburton. Then trading Jalen Smith and now thinking about letting Ayton walk. It just doesn't make sense.

$90/4 nowadays is role player money nowadays. Bridges is not the problem going forwardlife_saver wrote:I have a question for Suns fans...do you think Bridges has been good enough player in playoffs to justify his 4 yr $90M contract?
