Golden rules for comparing players:
1) # rings, # FMVP
2) who stays with one team, who hops around
3) their overall careers? impact on the game? longevity? regular season achievements? IDGAF.

it would be impressive if he won those finals, but he lost more than half... thats not a good look.

I disagree, It's quite an accomplishment to make it that many times

I'm sorry but when it comes to raw ability to play basketball Steph just isn't in the same stratosphere as peak LeBron. Read that again. stratosphere. Anybody who knows a little bit about basketball is aware of that.

In 17-18 LeBron averaged 34ppg, 9rpg, 9ap on 62 TS%, 32 PER en route to the finals. Only 1 other player on the cavs averaged double digits, Kevin Love at 15ppg. The rest of his supporting cast was middling 6th man type role players. To this day it is still one of the most amazing individual playoff runs ever, about as close to a one man show as it gets. Game winners, 50 point performances, daggers, you name it.

Steph has never reached that level of play in the post season. As a matter of a fact, he's never had a playoff run on par with 08-09 LeBron individually, much less peak LeBron. Prime LeBron is also a vastly superior defender. Steph does 1 thing better than prime LeBron: shoot the ball. He's not a better scorer, or rebounder, or playmaker, or defender.

LeBron will retire as the consesnsus 2nd GOAT. Steph will be in the convo for top 15.

Curry can’t surpass LeBron in player ranking.

But LeBron is not a change from what was happening before LeBron. If you had a player, 1 part Jordan, 1 part Magic Johnson and one part Karl Malone and one Part James Worthy the resulting player would be similar to LeBron.

You can’t do that for Curry. 2 parts Mark Price, 1 part Reggie Miller, 1 part Dell Cury and one part hoops god maybe.
Curry has little kids that can barely hit free throws flinging up 3s on the playgrounds.

Curry can win 2 more rings and he still won't touch LeBron's legacy. Let's be real here, LeBron is a top 3 player at worst, and Curry isn't reaching that.

Learned so much in this thread.

Curry is a 2x unanimous MVP
Warriors 3peated
Curry has been blocked from MVP consideration because of how good he is.

Crazy how I missed all of these things.

yup, it would have been a lot better look if he was eliminated earlier. Then he can say he won more than half his finals. Thank god Curry didnt make it to the finals and lose last season, much better that he missed the playoffs entirely

ya sorry i just cant back that kinda mentality, oh but he made the finals so he gets a participation trophy.. sorry, either you win or you dont. theres no in between. lebron has 4 titles, to jordans 6, thats what history will remember.

Raw ability to play basketball? You mean the ability to put the ball in the hoop? Steph laps LeBron there.

So getting bounced in the first round or missing the playoffs has the same effect on someone's legacy as winning 3 playoff series to make it to the finals?

Funny how Heat fans don't appreciate how great Lebron was for them.

As for Curry, he isn't as good as Lebron, but his legacy will greatly be enhanced with another title. He definitely is approaching top 10 all time.

Why is unanimous MVP a big deal, and Whys that more impressive than having 4 MVPs? Dont know what the rest of that sentence means

Because Curry is so good that he was blocked from MVP consideration simply because he made a team he was on so good it was deemed unfair and they've been trying to avoid acknowledging him as the best player in the league ever since leading to such dubious choices as Westbrook in 2017 and a back-to-back Jokic.

And Lebron didn't have any voter fatigue causing him to miss MVPs he should have won?

Remember when Lebron missed out unanimous MVP because some **** in New York said he had to root for the home town guy and put Melo 1, Lebron 2?

If Curry wins a 4th title + FMVP he moves into top 12 of all time. Lebron is top 2 of all time.

You can keep repeating this as much as you want but to people who haven't drunk the cool-aid it will look bizarre to arrive at such a conclusion.

He can’t or won’t surpass LeBron but he has put an end to all the LeBron GOAT arguments imo. You can’t let another guy dominate your era if your the goat

Yeah it's a really dumb distinction. These guys want to prop up Curry for a media based award (unanimous MVP) and in same breath complain about his lack of FMVPs or MVPs because of the flaws in media voting....

Luka losing in the WCF definitely saved his legacy cause now there's no chance of losing in the Finals.

OP logic

If Curry loses? That's 6 finals without a single FMVP... Yuck
