The NY media didn't destroy him. He did that all by himself.

They have been pretty tame with the Nets.

I miss the NorthEast so much. And one thing I miss were the headline wars between the Post and Daily News. Me and my late father used to read em all the time for kicks.

Typical FAKE NEWS from NY Post. You can say he lacks ambition, drive, or the mentality, but
KD clearly has a heart, he's still breathing last time I check. No heart? What's he, a zombie? Lol

The man's hairline would be further up to the point he'd be bald. I could just imagine it going like this:

"I've known Kevin Durant for many many years. His Mother Wanda is a truly lovely woman and it was touching what this brother said in his MVP speech for her when he won it in 2014. He's one of the best modern scorers in the history of this game, but what he's done is blasphemous. We've been bamboozled, led astray run amok we've been hoodwinked! My god Durant why are you arguing with people on the internet? Don't you know that Twitter's for quitters?!"

"Then again I shouldn't be surprised knowing how much of an internet tough guy you are. Charles Barkley was right about you. You are the GOAT at the one thing and that's being the GOAT bus rider. You didn't get the job done in OKC and got bothered at being called "Mr. unreliable" and got so bothered by it that you went to the team that beat you after being down 3-1 against you and you joined them. You sir are the embodiment of the phrase "if you can't beat em, join em".

"I've gone through many years of being a Knicks fan, but Durant may have caused me to banish my fandom into the shadow realm simply for how much pain and agony he and his sidekick Kyrie have caused. I've aged by 30 years because of this and I thought Dolan hit a home run but boy was I wrong. The Knicks gave Deandre Jordan, a washed up C $40M because Durant and Irving wanted him and he was a bonafide scrub during his time in NY. At this point I'd rather have Kwame Brown being a NY Knick than endure 1 more minute of Durant in NY".

I don't know what else to throw in but man I could see him going off the rails.

Kevin Durant wants no parts of that Boston Celtics team every again. He is heading back west.

Good he deserves all the backlash he gets and I'm going to troll him every chance I get. Softie ! Him and Kyrie the diva. Such a shame. Nets roll out the red carpet for KD and Kyrie and gives them the keys for them to cut bait when the heat comes on. And they actually have a big 3 now, it's ridiculous. This Nets era is worse than the Dwill era. I'm embarrassed .

Yea, they should of went harder honestly. Him and Kyrie brought this upon themselves . Quitters

The New York Post has been dominating the headline game since the '80s.

He realized he can’t be the headline act and wants to go somewhere with established superstars who he can hide behind. No matter how talented he is, being near 34 years old, hobbled and coming off a terrible performance, you have to wonder how many teams decide he’s not worth it.

It's not over for KD, pull of the surprise and force a sign and trade to the New York Knicks!

Idk what he expects. He goes to Miami and win a title he’ll be forgotten about the next day. Don’t think that fan base will value that title or think of him as a true heat guy.

I guess maybe here in Phoenix he’d get more love.

Idk what he’s chasing. He won 2 titles. He’s never getting that respect. Fans know when guys tough it out and not jump ship when the going gets tough. He’s chasing a pipe dream imo

Man destroyed himself. It actually took a very long time in NYC standards though...probably cause no one in NYC really sees the Nets as their team.

These guys are not happy within, they are miserable and ashamed of themselves. All those millions, and they get to play a game they loved their whole lives and get paid ridiculously for it and still ain't happy. I wish they can switch lives with regular ppl for a week .

Yeah pretty much and we all know he’s not happy. Who would be being a laughing stock. No one respects him. He’s the definition of a clown. I don’t care how much money he has it must suck to not even be hated but just thought of as a joke

These players like Lebron and KD are chasing the wrong things. History won't remember the player entitlement era fondly. What they want is what Jordan and Curry got. The answer was in front of their face and they couldn't see it. Unfortunately they are old now, but it's never too late to change.

Yep. And the ironic part is he could have gotten that if he never left okc. Grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Even if he never won a title there he’d be a legend. He wants to be the man and win a title but it’s not that easy being Steph or NJ or Dirk or Wade. Those guys have built up credibility. Honestly I believe he’s had the worst possible career arc imaginable
