This is a laughable claim. Iggy has joined the prestigious list of very smart on-court players who would make comically bad basketball executives.

And he already has a title, most importantly, as the main player.

That's why I'm rooting for him to get more... these old fellas will burn their tongues in due time.

Similar to Shaq, a lot of players really resent his obvious physical gifts.

IF IF IF IF IF IF only ...

Basically, it was the bulk of Rasheed Wallace's career, apparently even in retirement.

I'd rather celebrate players who actually put things together on a more consistent basis. But cool about those halfcourt practice shots, I guess.

This is the best explanation. Probably asked his team, what's something that can really get us some clicks, etc

You can bet there will be arguments like "Conley was one of the most underrated players of the last 30 years", "Conley would be a multiple All-Star nowadays" in 20 years...

Yep... remember Harden's "all he can do is run and dunk" comment?

And what is silly is they totally ignore obvious physical gifts. As example Steph works really hard on his shooting, but the vast majority of players could do nothing but practice shooting and couldn't come close to his in-game shooting ability. And I'm sure there are guys who practice shooting just as much as Steph who can't even make the league because they suck at shooting.

That is a physical gift too but they chalk it up to work ethic.

One of the many reasons I hate Harden.

This is just stupid. Just because Sheed could hit the three doesn't mean he would be this elite all timer in this era, and I'm getting tired of being making those comments just because someone shot threes back then.

Example 149783300524887 of why you shouldn't take players' opinions too seriously

They can dish out hot takes like no other

I do think Sheed would be more appreciated now than he was then. He had monster +/- numbers and better box stats going by current numbers. People would recognize the value he provides in a way they didn't then

Of all the people to hate, why do old head's hate on Giannis.

He has one of the highest, if not THE highest drive and work ethic in the NBA. If you want to hate on people, hate on these dudes who stay out in the clubs all night and play like crap because they are hung over.

Sheed was nice, but every one of Giannis' last 7 years were better than Rasheed's best year.

Vince Carter could be in this discussion as well, but similar to Rasheed, competitive drive plays a part.

It almost feels like Rasheed has gotten overrated for being underrated.

They're not even in the same galaxy, frankly. Giannis is a true superstar, championship cornerstone. Rasheed was a great complementary player on a championship team.

Igoudala coming out with the fire "old guy woudl dominate todays game because reasons" takes that are totally original and fun to talk about. What a swell gent.

Talent wise, Rasheed is as good as anyone in history. However, his desire for the game and what he is passionate about does not allow him to be an all time great. It would have been cool if he has more takeover moments where he went screw it, no one's stopping me today.

You're getting at it. Sheed really was better than people realized from 99-08. The better stats we have now show his impact on the game was a lot higher than realized back then. His approach now seems smarter.

But now people are overadjusting and giving him way too much credit.

Sheed's game is more valuable in today's league, but the reasons why he never reached his full potential aren't magically solved by transporting him to 2022.

Exactly! Players like Kobe and Giannis stay on the court practicing while others are out partying.....that is why they are so great and others fail.
